I just moved from lower south florida ( broward) and was so used to being less than 30 minutes form a boat ramp to bass fish. ( mm 41, holey land, holiday park, lox, sawgrass park, lake Ida.) Now I live in Port St Lucie and am having a hard time even finding a boat ramp and place to drop the boat in to fish for bass. This place is great for saltwater but where are the places to fish for bass with a boat ramp? I am not familiar enough with Lake O and I heard about a small ramp on C23 but have seen no activity as to if it is a viable ramp or fishery. Any help ? anyone know areas to explore within 30 - 40 minutes of Port St Lucie?

thanks,

I was just down there visiting the wife's family for vacation. There's a few parks around where you can fish from the bank. There only place I know of around there is Blue Cypress Lake. It's north of PSL around vero about 30-40mins I believe. There's also a shopping center there called Traditions that has a decent sized pond that I've seen guys pull pretty big bass out of. Unfortunately, it's also a neighborhood and I'm told the people that live around there like to call the cops on you

Thanks for the reply! Yes I am looking at Blue Cypress or Stick Marsh or the lake O and all are 50min to 1hr plus away give or take. Looking for something a bit closer and bank fishing is kind of out for me as the knee's cant handle the stress anymore. If i cant find anything closer I will probably start heading over to Lake O. thanks

For local boating maybe south to the palm beach lakes. PSL has a lot of bank fishing options though.

Never tried it, but you could go above the locks into fresh water on the St Lucie south fork?

Boat fishing is out unless you got a kayak in PSL. Im local so if ya need and help or have questions just ask.
