LOL ~

Well I'll tell you this my friend - there's another trip south of the border in the works for this fall.

If the opportunity presents itself, I may just do that.  Especially since that's the place to do it.

And YOU Sir, can expect at least one photo.

I will eagerly await such a pictorial delight!

Only wish I could join you for my first DD :(

I'm experiencing many firsts as well. I'm learning a ton through Web browsing with a lot of info right here on this forum. My first topwater catch was on a whopper plopper yesterday an hour before sunset. That was awesome.

Last year was my first ever serious bass fishing year. My first on a rubber worm, first on a squirrel tail jig I tied (I fly fish and thought to try tying a bucktail type jig), first on a plastic craw (my PB too at 3.8 lbs). All this no doubt put the fire in me and I bought a kayak last fall. If you can't find me, call the lake and have me paged! HA! Year two, I found chatterbaits are deadly on bass and missed a new PB when this PIG of a bass jumped and threw my bait...UGH! Next time maybe...

Also this year... first on a jig w/trailer for new PB (4-1/4 lbs).

Go ahead and laugh, got my first bass on a tube this year and my first on dropshot. Before I  got on this site everything was spinnerbait, buzzbait, crankbait, or frog. This site has helped a great deal. Next up jig.

First time I've set the hook on what I thought was a big smallmouth, ended up being a dink and he went flying past my head and landed a few feet behind me. Lol. He was ok though!

I call this "astronaut training" (or "basstronaut training")

"Caught" my first snake this year while fishing.  I almost filled my shorts when I stuck my hand in there.

I've had fish hit right at the boat but today was a first. I was burning a buzzbait back to the yak thinking I was out of strike zone. As I pulled the bait out of the water a nice smallie jumped about a foot out of the water and grabbed it. Scared the hell out of me and I couldn't stop laughing.

For years I fished with a limited arsenal of Senko, jerkbait, and lipless crankbait. This year I've mixed it up a bit and had my first catches on a jig and pig and a frog. The other day I bought my first chatterbait and I'll try that out tonight.

We were cruising a small flat on the Big O in very clear 3 fow when to my left something caught my eye. I turned and saw an approximate 2lb fish with 1/2 a blue gill sticking out of its mouth.

Its tail was flipping like it was just caught.

I yelled to my boater to "drop the poles right here"

Caught my first topwater catfish. Was about 5lbs on a frog. Absolute explosion.

I've only had that happen once and it was at night on a buzzbait . He exploded all over that lure . I thought i had a double digit bass .

Had given drop shot some half-hearted efforts in the past with no results but decided to give it a real honest effort this year...finally caught my first drop shot Bass last week and have been gaining confidence in it ever since.

I caught my first bass over 8lbs 6oz. this year which was my previous best. I caught a 9lb 2 oz. largemouth a few weeks ago around the middle of June.

When she came up I knew for sure she was going to bust the 10lb mark. I came up just a bit short but I'm still impressed. The lake I caught her in is pretty small and gets fished heavily. If she would have still been in her fat stage from the pre-spawn/spawn I know she would have went over 10.

The base of her tail was thicker than any fish I've ever seen. The thickness of the fish is what amazed me. I couldn't imagine seeing what a 15+ would look like.

Though it was weeds at first, didn't even move after my little squarebill connected.
