Incarcerated Otter Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 So I tried one of these yesterday on 1/0 and 2/0 EWG... weightless texas rigged. On the retrieve every so often the Jr would rotate 360 degrees. I checked the hook and it was centered on the bait. Any idea why its rotating like that? Quote
Dorado Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 Try using a darter head, jig head, or weighted-belly swim bait hook. A little weight embedded to the hook with keep you trace on an even keel. Weightless causes that flaw when in motion. My tip: use a Roadrunner Pro Underspin. Most weighted bell swimbait hooks on the market are too big for a Swimming Fluke Jr. I do really well on the bluegill flash and baitfish colors 1 Quote
The Bassman Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 Swimmin' Fluke Jr. is one of my handful of go to smallmouth baits. Have introduced a couple of friends to creek fishing with it. Just rig it on a 1/16 or 1/8 head and straight retrieve. They will come. 1 Quote
Incarcerated Otter Posted June 12, 2017 Author Posted June 12, 2017 Thanks everyone..Thought I was doing something wrong. Ill try both a 2/0 weighted ewg and a jig head. Jig head will be tough since it's very weedy. Quote
Super User Munkin Posted June 12, 2017 Super User Posted June 12, 2017 Try this 4/0 3/32oz weighted hook. Allen 2 Quote

Super User bowhunter63 Posted June 12, 2017 Super User Posted June 12, 2017 Weighted and un weighted work great.I use the weighted in a little stronger current or really windy days. They both catch fish for sure. Quote
Incarcerated Otter Posted June 12, 2017 Author Posted June 12, 2017 Thanks for all the advice. I tried one with a 3/0 1/16 hook and it swam perfect. I'm going to pick up some 2/0 nd 1/0 as well. Quote
Super User Munkin Posted June 13, 2017 Super User Posted June 13, 2017 I started making my own weighted hooks in order to meet my needs. When I get a chance I will post some pictures of what I made. Allen Quote
