...But am I the only one who is addicted to fishing tackle? Recently I've noticed how much time I spend fiddling with my fishing stuff. Its almost like shopping for, buying, unpackaging, fondling, colecting, sorting, modifing, cleaning, and just looking at lures is almost as fun as catching fish on them. When I get my long awaited orders in the mail its like christmas, (or more like Golom from Lord Of The Rings with the ring in his hand) and I stay up late looking at the BPS catalog and doing the other things I just described.

"So many lures, So little time"

Avid, I know exactly what your going through.

When I'm fishing I never get the chance to use all the lures I want to. I try on a light craw jig for a while, then a dark craw jig, then a really light craw jig, then a really light craw jig with a trailer, then that same lure with a different trailer, and so on. And by the time I'm done fishing I havn't even worked my way to the Black/blue jigs, let alone the crankbaits, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, poppers, 7" powerworms, 10" powerworms, and everything else!

I get home and think "Oh I should have of used this" and "I should have used that" and then I cant wait for tomorrow so I can get the chance to use them.

Lifes hard sometimes.

And you dont even what to know about the dreams I have. (one night I drempt about this 1/4oz chrome w/ blue top and orange scaled RatLtrap and the next day I slammed them with that exact lure!)

Anyone else know what I'm talking about?

Sadly....yes.

My wife says if I spent as much time & effort organizing my office and my garage as I do my tackle box I'd be a much happier person...I say if i spent as much time doing those things I wouldnt' have time to work.  ;)

I'm out of room in the tackle bag and it's the biggest one I could find.  I'm going to have to start carrying multiple bags in the boat!  :D

Dont worry, you're not alone. You can often catch me watching TV with my tackleboxes open in front of me. I just like looking at my stuff and rearranging it constantly. Even at my friend's house I constantly mess with his tackle.

Ihave two main bags that I carry with me to work at least 3 times a week to go through and rearrange things in it.  The rest of the time I have a rod in there practicing pitchin and flippin.  The joys of working nights by myself. ;D

If there's something wrong with doing that, then I think 99% of us have that problem...

My girlfriend THOUGHT I was crazy just because I liked to fish. Then once I took her / Showed her my tackle boxes, and organized my stuff in front of her, she realized crazy was an understatement.

:-? Tackle buying problem?  No not me.  Well maybe just a little bit. Ya see Doc, it's like this, whenever I go to the store, something always drags me to the fishing department. It's not my fault really, Something just comes over me. There's all these rods and reels and everyone of them wants me to handle it. And then all those walls of lures and all those colors and everything and well you know.....Hey, I only thought about fishing twice last week, once for 3 days and the other time for 4 days. So I keep a BPS catalogue in the bathroom, anything wrong with that? And one in the car, too.  But that's all. Oh, there's a Cabelas one in my office, but that's all, I swear.  Hey what are you saying, that I'm obsessed? Oh, possessed.

It 's better to accept you are a tackle junkie than to deny it, plain and simple. Only thing that confuses me is is that I can no longer tell what brings me more pleasure, fishing with it or purchasing, looking at it, this one goes here, that one goes there, look at all them purty colors .......  :;)

That's why I haven't gone fishing in quite a while,

I just can't bring myself to getting them wet. 3.gifparanoid.gif3.gif

Looking through my collection of softbaits, hardbaits and all other lures I feel like im a kid digging through a bag of halloween candy. The feeling is just great. Im always buying new lures and softbaits to add to my collection like an addiction. But hey it brings me happiness and what else more could you ask for in this world?

I like it best when I find baits and lures I forgot I had and have not tried in a while or ever. I think this also means I have way to much tackle!!!

Oh NO!

I check mine to see if they've moved, does anyone talk to them , I mean maybe some sounds come from me when I check them but, really you don't talk to them do ya

If you say yes, then bringing in my rods is a problem too :-?

Is there help for this disorder?

I think fishing cures all of the illness we have Talked about. But I have one question for everyone, Do you ever say out loud or in your head when looking for that perfect lure " MAN IF I WAS A BASS I WOULD EAT THIS" ?????
