this spring in the north east has been crazy with the weather, super warm and then super cold. last tuesday it was 46 here in MA. average temps in june are in the low 70s.  this weekend and next week will be 80s and 90s.  how does this weather affect the fish?  they were just starting to spawn then the super cold comes in then its hot again, its crazy! im hearing reports of bass still spawning and some post spawn.

yesterday i saw sunnies on beds but caught a male largemouth who released sperm on me, same small pond.

Its been like that in the Midwest too.  The winter was lacking snow/cold and abnormally warm, then spring was colder and wetter than usual until pretty recently.  Now they're talking almost 100 degrees this weekend!  I'm afraid that these sort of wild swings in temperature and precipitation (or lack of it) are the new norm regardless of the season.

It's been a tough transition for sure. Even with the water staying relatively cold, most of the spawning around me is done, which seems odd.
