What about just getting a good cover for it for now. Then building a carport or adding on to your garage?

I added a 2nd garage door on the back garage wall....opens into the backyard where I put a carport. Best thing I have done for my boat.

the carport has since had the 2nd side completed.

Looks great. To bad I can't do that, my boat would be parked in my neighbor's yard. I am thinking about building an extended car port attached to the front of my garage though. A place to put the boat and a place to work under if the weather is bad..

Buy a single axial trailer for your boat and sell the double axial to the dealer. You don't need a double axial trailer unless you plan to travel 1,000's of miles cross country each year.

That pass through is a pretty slick set-up!

I would have done the same (our "boat garage" is a detached 24 x 36 building) but to do that I would have had to cut down a bunch of trees.  Not worth it for the ability to pull through...and I would have lost a bunch of shelf storage.

Trailer Dollies - Don't use them on even the slightest grade. Without brakes, your trailer can easily take off and run you over before rolling over the hill and getting all busted up. Don't ask how I know that.

Traysliding - google it. As a teenager, we used to put fast food trays under the back tires of a front wheel drive car, lock the e-brake, and slide it around all over. I'd imagine these trays would work just as well as the cutting boards mentioned throughout the thread, if not better, at a significantly lower cost.

Single Axle Conversion - This could be a big deal or it could be as simple as changing springs, depending on your trailer manufacturer. A little research could find you a leaf spring that bolts up from the front shackle to the rear, bypassing the center 2. If the trailer has brakes on one axle, you could probably re use it if it's rated to hold your boat. If I were in your predicament, I'd be comparing part numbers and diagrams of your trailer manufacturer's single axle model with the same weight capacity to see if this can be done with off the shelf parts or contacting the nearest authorized repair facility for your particular make of trailer before selling the boat.

Some great ideas...

The bottom line for me is that this boat is not practical for ME right now....

I have it posted on Craigslist and several facebook groups... Anyone here wants it they can come take her away for 23k.

Looks like a nice neighborhood, HOA probably frowns upon boats in the driveway or carport construction :( good luck with the next boat.

You're right....I would get a letter from HOA even if the boat stayed out overnight in my driveway.....UGH HOA!!

I couldn't deal with that. I don't have a HOA where I live, but residents are still fought by the city on a lot of things like this. Last year I went through a huge ordeal when someone complained about my chickens and am really wondering what they'll do if they ever find out that the neatly landscaped little pond I have in my back yard serves double duty as a place to store live catfish bait!! My girlfriend thought she was getting Koi, she was a little surprised when I came home and threw in a bucket of bluegill.

Bummer...too bad you're half a country away.  That is a very nice rig, I suspect it'll sell fast.

Found the Craigslist listing...you're going to want to list the HP of the motor.

What is it?  Looks like a 150.

Good...I'd get that in the Craigslist ads, or at least a picture showing the HP on the motor.

Great boat at a great price, it is really too bad you can't hang on to it...but I absolutely get that it doesn't fit your life right now.

I've slotted myself into a place where I've got an eighteen and a half foot, 8 foot wide, aluminum hulled boat that has the multi-species hull of a regular Crestliner, but has the layout of a bass boat (big decks front and back, tons of storage below deck).

2005 Crestliner CMV 1850, Johnzuki 140 4 stroke, electronics have been upgraded to Helix G2N since that picture was taken.

I don't need...or want...a 20 ft. boat with a huge motor that goes 70 MPH.  Those boats are a blast...a lot of fun...but not something I feel like would enhance my life at all.

There is more than one option out there for you that is similar, and will fit your life better, have fun finding it!

I do have it on craigslist and a few facebook groups...

A lot of tire kickers out there...

I'm also in the "tandem axle trailer that barely fits into garage diagonally" club.  If my nitro trailer were another 4 inches it wouldn't even fit.  It only takes me 3 or 4 mins to get it into the garage tho.  I bought one of those motorized winches from harbour freight and mounted it on top of the cinder-block foundation of the garage (in my garage the foundation comes up to about 4').  Trim down a few inches off the ground, back it into a corner, then winch it over into place.

My next house will hopefully have a drive thru garage that is long enough to pull my boat and truck in and then the doors be closed.

Here you go:  Winch

Man I would love to see a video of how you do this. The more I look at this boat in my garage the more I want to keep it. I can't justify keeping it if I can never get it in and out of my garage.

How do you winch the trailer out without anchoring a pulley in the middle of the garage?

The power Trailer Valet posted would be a good option and as I mentioned a single axial trailer. I owned several 29-19.5 bass boats with 200+hp engines on single axial trailers with no issues becuase I always have garage my boats.

Seeing the winch discussion (and not being sure what you drive), I'll ad an idea. You could also attach a pulley to the wall and mount a winch to your truck. They make a not so intrusive looking receiver hitch mounts front and rear or multi vehicle applications worth checking out as well.
