Super User cart7t Posted January 14, 2007 Super User Posted January 14, 2007 If you can't surf the web or check your email with it while you're at the lake, I'd say forget it. Quote
fishbear Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Met a bank fisherman actually using one of those last summer. It was pretty cool, he had it rigged on a spinning rod, and would cast it out where he wanted to fish and watch the screen... Didnt see him catching any more fish than anyone else though,,,, Quote
BASS fisherman Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 A buddy let me borrow his Smartcast. It is pretty cool for how small it is. It is best used to find structure. The pixel count is very low, so I would suggest getting the full size screen for the higher price. It will make a huge difference when trying to decifer weeds and rocks. Quote
Ky_Lake_Dude Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Just remember that the term fish finder is very misleading, depth finders are meant to be ur eyes under the water to see things like brush, rocks and weeds and things of that matter. Quote
northgabassfisher Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol sorry but it is a hunk of junk, there is no way it could be accurate Quote
Super User J._Bricker Posted January 16, 2007 Super User Posted January 16, 2007 BaitMonkey12- If you buy it I think you'll wish you would have spent your money on something else. For instance, a portable fish finder that you can use on any boat, including rentals. All you'd need then is a trolling motor / battery and your in business. That was my start and my .02 on your question. JB Quote

northgabassfisher Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 because the screen is a watch, if it was worth a crap then everyone would make one ive never seen a lowrance or eagle wrist watch fish finder thingy, and im sure it dose not have hardly any pixels or power. but it might be good to tell you how deep you are and temp and thats probably about it.
