How about puddingstone lake? The report I've read is pretty good this year.

LA county is a big area with very few bass lakes to choose from. Your best choice would be Castaic and the Castiac lagoon. Puddingstone as mentioned, lake Irvine is currently closed and I believe in Orange County, as is Laguna Nigel. Most LA county lakes are private or closed to the public access.

Puddingstone gets a lot of fishing pressure as most of LA County lakes will get.  I used to fish Puddingstone quite often and usually just ended up with 2 fish maybe 3 after spending all day there.  Usually just on senkos.

There is also Legg Lake that I hear a lot of people try to fish too.

I got tired of Puddingstone and started making my way to Perris, DVL, and Castaic all with better results.  DVL has half off boat rentals on Wednesdays.  You should reserve one if you plan to go because they rent out quick!

I've now moved to North County San Diego and am enjoying exploring the SD lakes with decent success.
