Need help picking chatterbait reel

Hey guys I'm looking for a new chatterbait reel. Distance is extremely important because I primarily fish from the bank.  I don't have a budget. With that said I have been looking at the Chronarch mgl, metanium mgl, and the daiwa steez A. If there are any other suggestions feel free to add them.  I'm really just looking at Shimano and daiwa. Thanks

My reel of choice for that application is a Shimano core 100mg. Love that frame (100mg, mgfv, chronarch d). Very comfortable in my hands and Casts forever, not to mention super smooth.

Shimano aldebaron used a buddy and wat  a reel. Little pricey but nice reel

Chatters cast well, reel choice isn't too critical. I use the same rod/reel as spinnerbaits, 6.something:1 with 15 lb BG. If you are having trouble casting chatters, try a different trailer, it can make a difference.

I throw this on the Dobyns Champion 734C with Abu Garcia Gen2 STX (6.4.1) without any issues. Im considering moving up to Shimano Curado 70 XG (8.2.1)  or Curado 200IHG  (7.2.1).

 

I am afraid that it might be too fast for me since I like to blast out in the veg in the area that I fish

I'm not familiar with the reels you mentioned but I throw a 3/8 ounce Chatterbait on my spinning reel which is a Abu Garcia Revo SX spooled with Power Pro Super Slick 8 35 lb braid and that thing slings it. The rod is an Abu Garcia Veracity 6' 9" med-heavy.

Moving baits don't require anything special as far as a reel goes but they are more enjoyable on a smooth reel. The exceptions being extra heavy and high resistance baits where a low ratio/ipt reel comes in handy. Distance is affected by a variety of details but the reel is the least of it once properly setup and lubricated.

I use a Daiwa CT Type R that has 6.3.1 gear ratio. I personally prefer reels with mid range IPT for moving baits.

I fish bladed jigs a ton, but it doesn't take anything real specific to fish them. I've been using a Bantam Chronarch 100B and really like it for them. I fish mine slow, so a little slower reel is what I opt for.

I threw my chatterbait from the bank this weekend with my Curado I 6.3:1 and it worked great. It's a smooth reel & doesn't break the wallet.

I have no experience with chatters...yet, but can't imagine fishing them fast at all. They don't look like they'd lend themselves to any level of "fast" so a slower reel (more power) seems to make good sense to me.

The rod also affects casting. You need a rod that can cast a long distance, get a good hook set with a chatter bait jig that has a heavy wire hook. Chatter baits compact heavy shape  casts good with any properly cleaned/tuned baitcasting reel. If casting over 50 yards the reel spool line capacity becomes a major factor to consider. I cast jigs over 40 yards on a regular basis and changed to 8:1 ratio Daiwa Tactula R100 series reels to maintain control of bass hooked at the end of a long cast because the smaller 100 size reel spool is only at 50% capacity reducing IPT about 40%.
