I posted in the General forum a few weeks ago asking for a video editing forum but I think the best we'll get is a sticky.

Anyway, I enjoy making GoPro edits from my fishing trips and I'd like to talk with others on here who do the same. What I'd like to see is a place where people can post links to their creations for the BR community to not only enjoy, but give feedback and tips to improve the content. It's a growing segment of our favorite sport and lots of folks seem to need help.

This will NOT be a place to post videos the OP didn't make, share shaky cell phone video, or for pro staff to post product reviews. I'm talking a forum like "I made this video to test out audio and fading/filters. What do you think?" and the like.

How do we get started?

The best way is for those with content to share and those with experience or general opinions can constructively critique.

The key to most editing is simple and focused with just a little taste of uniqueness. My advice to anyone making videos, never become complacent, never stop trying to improve what you can output.

I am eager to see some videos!

I'll post some of mine here. I appreciate it!

We'll let this run as a test, but if it becomes a "Hey look at me!  Subscribe to my channel!" thread, it will quickly be deleted.

I'm wit Glenn, and like photography how to related posts, this could really benefit us all. That said, I really need you guys to stick to the guidelines. Video adds a certain amount of burden to moderating that I'm happy to take on, but really I'd prefer to wear my member hat like all of you.

Thanks!

There is going to be gray area at some point. For instance, I've only made three videos and have posted two. I'm just learning editing, so I'll post my videos here for the BR community to comment. All feedback is appreciated, be it, "good job", or "I would have done this", or "try this next time".

The grey area comes in the form of the purpose of the video. Mine are made to entertain with fish catches, but I also give out the equipment used so that viewers can watch said Baits in action and maybe gain confidence.

Im hoping the posters AND admins can recognize the difference between the informative videos and the over zealous pro staff videos. I'd hate to see this thread go to waste.

I think we can all benefit and help each other with the production aspect without issue. Speaking for myself, I'll be a little loose.

I think this could be a really helpful thread as many people are now recording their fishing trips and wondering what everyone else is using.

personally im not so concerned with talking about what gear im using in a video. I learn more from watching what they are doing not talking about how great a certain lure is. To me when you start talking about gear it becomes more of a promotion than a video of your latest catch personally i really like the way @A-Jay does his videos

I like to put a little fade-out at the end of the video with my gear used because some people are curious. I think we’ve all been inspired to buy gear based off of someone else’s success at some point. I also add my social media stuff afterwards. A total of about ten seconds for both slides.

I enjoy videoing my fishing.

And I definitely appreciate the opportunity to post / share them here on Bass Resource.

I'll always keep the edits very simple, I do not care to add music or 'effects'.

What you see is more or less what happened.  (or Didn't)

It's been nice to see the progress you've made from your first video this year to your last video (I think your best so far) last week.

Thank Bud ~ I appreciate it.

It really does help the content quite a bit when the bass are totally suicidal . . . .

I also enjoying Video editing of my fishing trip. This is mainly for my pleasure and friend and family. I watch my video over and over and try to find a clue of how I catch that fish or how can I improve it.

I don't really talk about my equipment(actually not talking at all) but I want to see in my video and  others of how they are working their lure and how to detect a bite with different techniques or different lures.
