As stated above how often do u throw a SK squarebill 2.5 over the 1.5, never, a little, or more than? I fish Lake Fork in TX and it's very highly pressured, because of that even though the water is almost always stained I always throw the 1.5. When u do choose the 2.5 what are your reasons for choosing it? Thanks guys.

more than i fish the 1.5 i would start with the 2.5 if they aren't biting that then you downsize and go to the 1.5

I believe the run the same depth. The 2.5 will cast farther allowing you to cover more water and keep the crank in the zone longer

As a shore guy I throw the 1.0 and 1.5 95% of the time since I've been getting lazy and only bringing my spinning rod.  The 2.5 I'll sometimes break out when I bring my cranking rod, but even then I'll usually grab a chatterbait first, and will also throw the 1.5 on it.  The 1.5 might be the perfect size all-purpose crankbait.

The 1.5 is what I throw 90% of the time but I have promised myself to use my 2.5s more in 2017.

I fish the 1.5 the vast majority of the time. I've had quite a few days that they were smoking a 1.5 and I switched to the 2.5 to see if I could improve on the size. I can't remember a time that my numbers didn't go down and I can't recall the size ever increasing. Not saying it never happened, but if it did I can't remember it. For this reason I see no reason to throw anything other than a 1.5 on a square bill bite. It just flat out catches more fish for me. The big fish don't seem to mind it either.

I fish the 1.5 90% of the time and go down to a 1.0 in the spring.  I have a couple of 2.5's but they seem to spend a lot of time in my box.

I start throwing the 2.5 about mid-summer, by then the bait is a bit bigger.

And it's THE crank of choice for me in the fall.

I have a lot of 1.5s and a few 1.0s. I rarely fish the 1.0s. I don't even own a 2.5. I'm going to have to fix that!

Awesome feedback guys thanks.

Same here.

I'll go back to the 1.5 on days they are biting the 2.5 and the bite slows. That often extends the cranking bite for a few extra fish.

I don't use the 1.0 much at all. It's a rock bass magnet and can be difficult to cast on my regular square bill set up, especially if there's any wind. I also don't use the 8.0 much. The "magnum" sized cranks have never been real productive for me unless it's big and toothy.

I have a crap load of 2.5's but I never throw them! The 1.5's are so productive for me it's hard to use anything else. I Catch anything from bluegills to muskies on them....lol.

I use the 1.5 almost all of the time, but due to this thread, I'm gonna start throwing that 2.5... I would like SK to make a 2.0.  Lucky craft had some RC and RTO 2.0s and man that was a great bait.

I throw the 2.5 in Bluegill patterns. With Shad patterns it's almost always the 1.5. The only exception is late summer/early fall, I start throwing the 8.0 for the bigger forage bite.

I own zero 2.5's. I have some Lucky Craft 2.0's that I use pretty often, but I don't fish crankbaits in general very often so take that for what it's worth.
