Hey everyone,

I just scored a killer deal on a new Lowrance Elite 7ti w/ TotalScan. I storage my boat outside in winter, small aluminum 14'. My questions is, will the transducer be okay to be stored outside over winter? I live in the Chicago suburbs. I can bring the unit itself inside and store it in there. Just curious what those of you do that store your boats outside. I couldn't find anything in the manual.

I live in the Chicago burbs also. been storing my boat outside for forty years. no problem with the transducer. the weather won't even hurt the unit if it's mounted in the console.

I think I read in the manual of a former unit of mine, an Eagle, that it's best to store indoors where the winters get cold.  Seems to make sense for something called "liquid crystal."  I've always left transducers on the boat in cold winter storage, no issues.

removing and adding a transducer can be a real headache on many boats. can't see doing that every year.

I live in central Minnesota and store my boat in an insulated shed during the winter for 6 months.  Its not heated so it can probably get down to around freezing when its bitter cold outside.  I do not remove the transducer from my HDS 7 or Elite 4x.  I do remove the screens themselves but not the transducers.
