Neil McCauley Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 Anyone have experiences with these (boat-related or otherwise)? Looking for a new set that's reliable/durable, for my canoe on car roof. My first set of nylon "WorkForce" ones (like pictured) lasted 7 years without issue... until one day leaving the lake and getting them from the trunk and the hook loop stitching of one just completely gave out. Kind of wary of them since then.. Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted May 30, 2017 Global Moderator Posted May 30, 2017 They lasted 7 years. I'd say you got your money's worth. If you think about 7 years of sun, rain, hot, and cold it's going to wear out. 3 Quote
Super User Spankey Posted May 30, 2017 Super User Posted May 30, 2017 Rod Saver, Attwood, BPS and Cabela's all have good stuff but Home Depot and Lowe has stuff to meet your needs. Transom tie downs are important. You should inspect these things regularly. I know I'm dragging a nice boat around so I can't let $25.00 of straps cause an issue. I dont have the ratchet type. I don't want that style. Feel better about the conventional flip lock. Quote
