david in va Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Well, I like war pictures and they have 24 hours of them on Memorial Day weekend But I think Thanksgiving is my favorite ,We[ family ] always get together then, good food and no one is looking for presents like at Christmas time The older you get the more you look forward to the family get-togethers 1 Quote

Super User Oregon Native Posted May 27, 2017 Super User Posted May 27, 2017 My first thought is Christmas as it reminds me of who's in charge and sent his Son to die for my sorry $#@!. I don't like what the world has done with it though as with most holidays. I used to enjoy holiday weekends but gosh oh golly it can be a mess out there. By the way...."You All have a safe and happy weekend" 6 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted May 27, 2017 Super User Posted May 27, 2017 Christmas time. I am off from work for the entire week between Christmas and New Years. If the family doesn't have anything going on, and the lakes aren't frozen, I will be out on the water. 3 Quote

Global Moderator Mike L Posted May 28, 2017 Global Moderator Posted May 28, 2017 Christmas...No Question! There isn't anything better than sitting on the end of the couch watching your kids, then grandkids eyes open wide when they see what they get, throw the wrapping's around the room, grab each others stuff they like better, then looking over to my wife, we lock eyes and smile.... Yep Christmas, No Question!! Mike 5 Quote

Hate the cold, the crowds, and the commercialization of it, but getting to watch the excitement of our oldest son and my nieces, that's a great feeling. 2 Quote
Bucky205 Posted June 10, 2017 Posted June 10, 2017 LOL, Do birthdays count? Tomorrow is my B'day and I'm looking forward to a few BPS gift cards from the wife and kids, so I'm pretty stoked. Being retired military Veterans day and Memorial Day carry a lot of meaning for me. Thanksgiving the food is great. Memorial Day for the start of summer, Independence Day is usually a day at the lake with friends, Labor Day because the weather is starting to cool, New years because I enjoy dancing with my wife as we start a new year, I enjoy Easter, and Christmas because I believe. This is a hard question, ask something else. 1 Quote
