Patrick Smyth Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 I'm really interested in buying a Crestliner Pt18 so I stopped at my local dealer Lewis Boats. I asked the salesman about installing Talons on the boat he said I couldn't because it would void the warranty on the hull. He said I would need a jack plate and a jack plate would void the warranty. This guy seemed very unhelpful. I know I've seen a few with talons and John Coxs has power poles. Does anybody have any info on mounting a pair of talons Quote
Super User slonezp Posted May 27, 2017 Super User Posted May 27, 2017 Call Crestliner direct and ask them. He may be telling the truth but there is a lot of misinformation about hull/motor warrantys and whether or not a shallow water anchor will void them. Quote
Super User gim Posted May 27, 2017 Super User Posted May 27, 2017 Minn kota also offers specialized brackets in the case that they cannot be mounted directly to the transom. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted May 27, 2017 Super User Posted May 27, 2017 Though I do have a jackplate, I've read somewhere that a jackplate is not necessary, but the motor still has to be unbuttoned (not sure what that means). Roger Quote

3dees Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 no jp. Talon is mounted on a sandwich bracket. didn't want to add holes in my transom. Quote
