bitsandbass Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 I bought two of these reels recently. They cost $16 each. I'm waiting for them to arrive in the mail. Anyone use these before? Are they half decent? Opinions? Thanks. Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted May 26, 2017 Super User Posted May 26, 2017 half decent describes them adequately. Not the smoothest, and probably won't last too long, but certainly worth the price. We took a couple of 4000s to FL in the salt and they handled everything ok with 20 lb braid. I plan to use them as guest loaners on the boat. I feel so ripped off I paid $20 each... Quote
bitsandbass Posted May 26, 2017 Author Posted May 26, 2017 I can easily return them to Dicks if need be. But what else would I replace them with at $16? Or is there at $32 reel that is 300% better hence offering better value? Quote
bitsandbass Posted May 29, 2017 Author Posted May 29, 2017 Anyone else used this reel? Thoughts welcome, TY. Quote
Big Swimbait Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 I have one on my Ned Rig/finesse worm set up. It has been totally adequate for those purposes. Quote

bitsandbass Posted June 12, 2017 Author Posted June 12, 2017 I havent used these yet! Hope to get to the pond this weekend. I see they are on "sale" at Dicks again, same price, $16. Makes me wonder if they worth that price normally. I'll report back once I've had a chance to use them. Just been really busy! Quote
Hulkster Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 that comfortable handle knob alone is still better than a Quantum! Quote
BassThumb Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 I use one for ice fishing. It's an excellent buy at $16. They're on par with the Sienna, which are $30 reels. Quote
