Brett's_daddy Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Okay, for those frog guys out there which is the best hollow bodied frog and why? The ones I'm looking into are the Spro Bronzeye and the Snag Proof Bobby's Perfect Frog...pros/cons of these? I know Booyah and Strike King both make some too but it seems Snag Proof and Spro get the most love but I'm open to suggestions as well. Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted May 24, 2017 Super User Posted May 24, 2017 can't go wrong with these: ish's phat frog spro bronzeye booyah pad crasher i actually like the booyah myself, they have the softest body and collapses easily on hooksets. they're also cheaper and easier to find than the others. 3 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted May 24, 2017 Super User Posted May 24, 2017 http://www.booyahbaits.com/booyah-pad-crasher The color posted. 6 Quote
SFL BassHunter Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Booyah, like they said. Recommended color differs depending where you are. Down here in Florida I have had best results with the Cricket, Aqua, and White booyah colors. 1 Quote
JoePhish Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 I like the the Scum Frog Trophy Series. Like the way it casts and how it sits with its back end down in the water. It's also very soft which leads to better hook ups. The downside to it being so soft is that it doesn't last that long. However, they're not as expensive as most of the other frogs on the market. 1 Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted May 24, 2017 Super User Posted May 24, 2017 Booyah Pad Crashers are where it's at for me. Very soft, collapsible body and they make a popping and Jr version. Quote
Rudy523 Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 I like the Spro Bronze eye but I've taken a like to Strike King KVD Popping Perch 1 Quote

Super User RoLo Posted May 24, 2017 Super User Posted May 24, 2017 Booyah Popping Pad Crasher - bull frog Soft collapsible plastic offers good hook-ups The flat face is good for popping, a plow-&-pause retrieve and so on. Good leak resistance Spro Bronzeye Popping Frog - green tree The flat face is good for popping, plowing-&-pausing, etc. Good leak resistance Durable Roger 2 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted May 24, 2017 Super User Posted May 24, 2017 I like the Pad Crashers, too. I bought a bunch BEFORE they became a sponsor! I've got some of the popping versions to try this summer, when the slop comes in. 3 Quote
Super User webertime Posted May 24, 2017 Super User Posted May 24, 2017 Spro popping frog and Booyah Pad Crasher. Black with Yellow. 1 Quote
jtharris3 Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Booyah, Booyah, and...... Booyah! Full disclosure, I do have a three of the Spro, one KVD, one Terminator, two Lunkerhunt, a Live Target Field Mouse and Sunfish. I've caught more and better fish on the Booyah Pad Crashers than all of the others combined! Plus I just like saying Booyah! 3 Quote
Super User MassYak85 Posted May 24, 2017 Super User Posted May 24, 2017 Spro bronzeye gets a lot of use by me. I also like Booyah Pad crashers. I did get a River2Sea Bully Wa over the winter but haven't been able to fish it yet. I really like it out if the box, not as rigid as the spro and much beefier and more easily exposed hooks. We'll see how it is in practice. It's a larger frog but I have high hopes for it. My hookups with the spro have been a little less than desirable so I'm just trying to improve on that. Quote
Super User gardnerjigman Posted May 24, 2017 Super User Posted May 24, 2017 Booyah poppin pad crasher in cricket is my number 1 frog. You can walk it, pop it etc making it great in the slop or open water. Hook up ratio is great with them as well. Only issue I have is I end up destroying the plastic in the mouth "popping cup" on a really good day but @Bluebasser86 doesn't have that issue. Quote
FCPhil Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 I like the jawbone frogs at Dick's sporting goods. At $3 they are easy to replace. They float like a champ and even the small frogs cast well. Only downside is the hook isn't the strongest but it is plenty for Colorado ponds. I'd recommend trying one before buying something more expensive. You might find the Jawbone frogs get the job done and save you some $. 1 Quote

The angle of the hooks differs a bit from other frogs and I'm curious if this adversely affects the hookset. Quote
Hot Rod Johnson Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 Koppers LIVETARGET "Mini Frog" LIVETARGET Hollow Body 45T Frog adds real life features, great paint jobs and realistic look to a small one and 3/4-inch body that weighs 1/4 ounce. It also casts well and walks, glides and scoots like its big brother. The keeled belly combined with anatomical lifelike features work well, the nose points ups, and the 45T can be worked on the surface or dead-sticked. The molded front legs and 3D eyes of this bait are good features... Quote

IndianaFinesse Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 My over all favorites are the junior and popping pad crashers in cricket frog and dart frog, but this year the lunkerhunt pocket frogs with the legs swapped out for skirts has been my go to frog. Only time will tell if it earns a place with my booyahs, but i love the results i'm seeing so far. The finesse frog saved my butt at a tournament last weekend, with a decent 18th out of 84 finish. Thanks for the heads up on that @Master Bait'r. 1 Quote
Bruce424 Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 Booyah and spro... easiest to walk Booyah is the softest. Spro walks a lil better. Booyah is the best bang for your buck Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted May 25, 2017 Super User Posted May 25, 2017 Bobby's Perfect and Chris Lane Guntersville frog are two of the best I've fished. I like the SPRO and Koppers, as well. 1 Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted May 25, 2017 Super User Posted May 25, 2017 Spro and Kopper is about all I use. Quote
Preytorien Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 I wish they still made the "Barts Death Dealer" frog. I watched some video of that and it looked effective, but he apparently stopped making them? I contacted him to see what their availability is. Quote
Super User bowhunter63 Posted May 26, 2017 Super User Posted May 26, 2017 Bobbys perfect frog is my favorite. 1 Quote
