CTBassin860 Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Its official.Returning the cable box to Comcast tomorrow.Keeping my internet and Netflix.Tired of paying 200 bucks for the 5 channels i watch.Ill miss the outdoor channel more than anything.Anyone subscribe to MLF To Go?? If so,is it worth it and how much content do you get?
Hez Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 I did the same 6 months ago - have loved every minute of it. i actually got the amazon fire stick (box) and stream all my live sporting events through Kodi. It also has access to just about anything you can watch on cable tv. I'll never look back. cable companies are some of the biggest thieves 2
Super User Darren. Posted May 23, 2017 Super User Posted May 23, 2017 (edited) We "cut the cord" last year, but Cox offered to give us basic cable channels (including Animal Planet) for less than the cost of our Internet package alone!! So we said sure. This year, we upped the Internet to 100MBits for another $5 a month (4 boys, games, Netflix streaming, CBS All Access, me working from home). Same TV package. I sure miss watching my sports including MLF, though. I should check out Kodi. Edit: I use Plex right now, to stream movies to our FireStick, given our Apple TV is aging and despite being an Apple guy, I don't want to pay the premium for current models...c'est la vie. I can't lie to you about that. other than that, it's unbelievable. You will wonder why you ever paid for cable tv again. Any movie/series/documentary you could ever think of can be watched. Live sporting events all over the globe (mainly soccer)....movies in theaters...the list goes on. it usually gives you a list of links for streams...and some of them don't work - but in the end, it's free. feel free to pm me and ask questions - I will answer any if I can 2
Super User Further North Posted May 23, 2017 Super User Posted May 23, 2017 We cut our cable years ago, don't regret it even a little bit. ...OK, I miss Grand Prix racing and the Olympics every two years, but I got over it. We don't even have an antenna for local stuff. The few shows we hear about that we want to see are always available in some other format, even if it means waiting until it comes out on DVD if we can't catch it on the internet someplace. No commercials, no gawd-awful "news", no politics...it's kinda funny, but not having TV pushed me to buy Sirius Radio so that I can listen to the music I want commercial, politics and "news" free as well. It's been a nice, quiet few years. Really like it. 2
brent245 Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Dump your cable, up your internet speed. Get Kodi. Maybe Netflix. And YouTube of course. All u need. 1
Lures'n'Liberty Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 **** cable. Don't be a slave to the networks. Politically, I'm a staunch Libertarian and can't stand mainstream media or their lack of third party coverage, so there's 40 channels of BS gone (and Glenn, no more political comments, I promise). Everything else I want to watch is on Netflix or broadcast on an antenna, just like the old days. I also subscribe to Motor Trend On Demand, as I'm a huge fan of Roadkill. I cut the cord 8 years ago, got in a relationship and got it back for 1 or 2, and I dumped her and cable on the same day (I caught the fish in my profile pic the following day). I miss neither the girl or the cable.

Super User J Francho Posted May 30, 2017 Super User Posted May 30, 2017 I have rabbit ears, and 15 gig of hotspot. 1
FordsnFishin Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Can you get live NFL games on this Kodi? Is it an app or what?
Super User fishballer06 Posted July 5, 2017 Super User Posted July 5, 2017 I haven't had cable in years... The wife and I have Netflix and Amazon Prime. Between those two, we have plenty of shows/movies to watch for the 2-3 hours a week that we might turn on the TV. 1
Siebert Outdoors Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 I did the same about a year ago. I have HULU, Amazon Prime, and Netflix. I dont miss it at all but I dont watch much tv. I went from about 130 down to 30 a month. We use a RUKU stick. 1

Super User BrianinMD Posted July 7, 2017 Super User Posted July 7, 2017 I hope the guys recommending Kodi realize its pulling content from a lot of illegal sources. Another big issue has been malware being preinstalled. 1

Basseditor Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 MLF has been on CBS lately so you're covered. I did the free preview of the MLF website but decided not to get it. I wouldn't use it enough.

I pay for a gold package of internet and cable services from my local company. I also have a fire stick. I have all my bases covered and I am poorer in the pocket to show for it. Cutting the cord is looking better and better. 2
brgbassmaster Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Kodi is the greatest and bro in law just loaded a ton of fishing. Watched nba playoffs on it and any show in the world.

Those that use the "overbearing laws" are just using it as a self justification excuse for doing illegal items. Theft is theft, self justification does not change that. 1

Technically it is illegal to download these movies and tv shows, but as a kodi user you are streaming not downloading. So you are not downloading anything, therefore not breaking any laws.
FordsnFishin Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 You guys able to get mlf or Bass master on Kodi? Are you only about to watch shows as they are live or can you go on anytime to watch them

Well this is very wrong, no matter if you download it or stream it if you are getting content that is supposed to be paid for and you are not paying for it its illegal. 1
