The schematic doesn't show it but that cap should unscrew. Probably has some locktite or something. Use a large slotted screw driver with a big grip for most leverage.

Thanks. I tried that, didn't work for me. I even tried pliers, that didn't work either. Idk..

The President XT has a similar screw.  The only reason I unscrewed it was because the handle fell off twice.  It's attached by a screw thread, if you unscrew this there is a phillips head screw underneath that you need to tighten to put it back on.  If you're curious there is a bearing in there that is totally not needed IMO I'm guessing that's why the cap is there.  My only gripe about the reel.

I tried the same but the concave shape renders screwdrivers useless.  I used a penny and that worked.

I tried everything to get it apart. There are two bearings underneath, that's what I wanted to oil. But that cover never came off. Let's just say, i have to order a new knob.

I oiled the bearing while the cover was off, made no difference in feel other than I can now free spin it for a few seconds longer...so yeah I guess it was worth it.

You should check if the cork handle is compatible I like it so much more than the foam on the Supreme.  The Supreme XT is a very nice reel though.

i have a pflueger president LE (the same as the President XT) and i took that screw off with a screwdriver this weekend to oil it, because it was kind of loud. Now its fine.

I talked to Pflueger again, to order a new handle knob, but I had to buy the whole handle. She said the schematics doesn't show the knob coming off.

it does come off, i have one and have taken it off with a nickel.  they're easy to scratch up though so be easy with it.

Cover the edge of your nickel with a piece of electrical tape to prevent scratching the knob cover.  It gives it a better grip, too.

I have a BPS reel with similar knobs and one was seized up.  The schematic showed them coming off, but they wouldn't budge for me.  The foam on the knob detached from the shaft before the cap would release.  I bought a new handle too.

weird, the supreme is way more expensive than the president le. I wonder why they made it that way.
