I just wanted to share that my friend and I had a great trip. We caught about 140 smallmouth during an 8 hour trip with a guide suggested on this website Susquehanna Smallmouth Guide. We had Joe and he was great. Also his boat was the perfect setup. I learned a lot and had a great time. Of course my buddy caught 4 that measured 20 inches and I lost 2 that looked that big. We plan on going again. Thanks to who ever posted the info last fall. I never would have gone without that post.

Joe's a great guide and very personable. Glad you had a good time; he can put you on fish!

Glad you had a good time, I think that was me that you are referring to.  I went out again with Joe and my BIL earlier this year in March.  On that first run after putting the boat in the water, we were wondering if it was all worth it, it was cooooold!

Despite the cold morning, it warmed up a bit and we had a pretty good day.  He was completely booked through April, and we had already rescheduled once because of snowfall.  In hindsight, even though I was itching to get out with Joe, we should have waited a few months.

I would like to get out again with him late summer/fall, time will tell.

Anyway, glad you had a good time!

Oh, and post up some pictures if you have any!

140 fish!  That's about the craziest total I've ever heard of, and I love that river.  Congrats on a killer trip.  It's a shame you caught every fish in the river and there's no reason for anyone else, under any circumstances to fish it. :D

Agree, all the fish are sore-lipped now.  Not even worth going out on the river anymore ;).

It's gotta be tough putting people on fish every day in the same body of water ! Or does he jump spots ? Even so..  every day in April ?? Making sure guests are hooking fish every day of the month sounds like more than a chore to me... I think it would take the fun out of it for me... It's cool that people do it tho.. river smallies ! Yea buddy

He does jump around a bit, my first trip with him was 5-10 miles north of where we put in this last time.  Don't forget too, that just because he tells customers that "April is booked" doesn't mean that he has customers on the boat every day in April.  He gets to decide what days he wants off, etc.  Balanced with whether or not he wants to make money or have a day off is his choice to make.

Regardless, I imagine that even fishing would start to feel like work after a time.
