Pisfun Spinning Fishing Reel 500 ???

Reel looks decent on paper.  6 ball bearings.  Perhaps a bit heavy at 7oz.  Anyone used one of these? 

 

For $15, will it last a couple of seasons???

Well, I'm not one of those guys that spends hundreds on a spinning reel, but $15. is a bit too cheap even for me! Can't imagine how it would last a couple of seasons for you, but who knows? The thing is.....will it self destruct when you've got that once in a lifetime fish on? Not worth the risk in my opinion.

I've used some of the cheap Chinese reels and they just don't hold up. Not familiar with that brand tough. I've had low end daiwas and shimanos that have lasted a few seasons, they do get rough and noisy over time but still are fishable. Can't say the same for the cheap China reels.

That reel handle looks like it belongs to a bike crank.Its 15 bucks for a good reason.

The mark up on everything is ridiculous... Just because it's 15 bucks doesn't mean it's going to fall apart... What do you think it costs for a "high end" bait caster to be produced ? Not as much as someone would think... Everyone who owns one will justify the purchase with the value of it's components... Regardless of components the mark up is at least 5x and probably pushing 10 depending on the reel. 

 

I have many , many prime examples where the "high priced " items wernt worth near what they cost... this isn't my thread and most of the examples are outside of fishing.. mainly because I don't buy anything "high end" for fishing . 

 

6 years ago I bought a Mitchell spinning rod combo for 29.99... the rod literally snapped in two years when I was casting(I know this doesn't help my point but it's The truth).. But the reel is used as my bank beater on a Berkely cherrywood travel rod and is still going strong. I caught several bass on it yesterday. 

 

I also have a Jimmy Houston combo I used for a few years and had one day last year where I caught 40 + bass with it... This combo was under 30 dollars as well and is still in good condition. 

 

My most expensive combo is 160 dollars.. and to be honest I'd still catch just As many bass without it . Is it nice ? Yes. Do I like it ? For sure... Is it worth it ? I guesso. 

 

I'll take an ugly stick with ur 15 dollar spinning reel and bring a bag of senkos & some various jigs to your spot and catch bass with you all day.

Have this reel in the 50 size for bluegill/crappie. Absolutely love it....for that. Would not trust it fishing for anything I would consider a trophy. I'd say it would hold up 4 outings bass fishing

I would recommend spending around double that for a reel that will last a couple of seasons. For $30 you can get a Kastking Mela II or a Shimano Sienna. Much better reels than the one you mentioned.

Yeah Im just trying to find a real budget setup.  I nearly bought a Pflueger President the other night but after I gave my son a spinning reel to practice cast in the back yard, I realized it was a bad idea. 

 

The little man is actually pretty good!  Took to spinning much quicker than I ever thought (thanks to another posted in a different thread who recommended skipping the spincaster and going straight for spinning).  I was so surprised.  Great recommendation. 

 

But what a realized is that if I buy a $50 reel, Im going to be paranoid about it taking damage.  With kids, they just cant be relied upon to take care of it.  The reel will get dropped in the sand, its 100% guaranteed.  Probably will land in the water at some point.  Its going to get scratched and banged up. 

 

So yeah, any half decent reel that will last 4 seasons for under $20 would be nice.  The hunt continues.

Don't know about the quality of the reel itself but the name of the Brand could use a little tweaking.  It could be worse, though.  It could be called "Pispoor."

I think someone mentioned above; get a Sienna and don't look back.  For $30 (less on sale) you can have a reel built like a tank that the kids can't hurt and will last you for years.

My buddy is sponsored by Piscifun and he's really happy with the stuff they send him. I've tried his equipment a few times and it's all been pretty impressive considering the price. I've never held this particular model but will say that the others are quite decent and much better quality than one would expect from a low priced Chinese reel. Their fly reels are also really nice if you're in the market.

No idea. But looking at the pic it seems to have a 1000 on a 3000 size reel. Goofy.
