Don ivonio?

Don Iovino did use these rods quite a bit if I am not mistaken.  He had a 2500C or a 3500C on them.

I think there is even a YouTube video called "The Good Ol' Boys" that shows him explaining his "doodling" technique using them.

Yes,these are Iovino Doodlin' Rods. I also have other Phenix Rods like the M2,Jig n Pig, Crankbait, and Split-Shot. Got a few  spinning rods too. My brother worked at Phenix Rods for over 20 years

These handles are a great fit for my 45-4600 Series reels because of the offset. With the newer rods with straight handles, they sit up higher, and are not as comfortable.

What type of handle (make and model) are you using? It looks good thinking of getting one for my old ambassadeur.

Late 60s, early 70s Garcia Conolon.  The details are in the first post of this thread.  Search on eBay - they are on there all the time.

Ah - the REEL handles.  The one with the Daiwa-type knobs is a ZPI - the other with the EVA knobs is from Mike's Reel Repair in Canada.
