So, I was watching the "live" coverage of the FLW Lake Cumberland Tournament and Scott Martin was using what he called a "Weight-Bait" it looked like a top water jerk bait that he slowly cranked. The movement was as if it swam from side to side. I did a little digging on google and here and could not find a "weight-bait". Does anyone know what else this lure is called.

he was probably saying  "WAKE bait."  A crank that runs close enough to the surface to create a large wake.

 she's not from the UP, she still had the weird accent though! It's a lot better now after 10 years, but I have to retrain her to speak normal after she goes up for a visit.

He was using a long A, not technically a wake bait, but they work great as one when reeled slowly. Its a staple for striped bass in the salt on calm days.

Technically, Scott is from south Florida.  Most "southerners" don't consider those folks "southerners", they're just from Florida.  :-)

Among other things; Florida is dubbed "The land of Newly-Weds & Nearly-Deads"

Not to worry, many nearly-deads outlive the newly-weds.

They hate when that happens   :D

We don't claim those people as Michiganders.  They rout for the Green Bay Packers.  Puke!!
