Any reports of how fishing is at bullards bar? I will be up there may 24th or 25th. Its my first time ever fishing the lake so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Friend of mine just went up there a month ago for a bachelor party...they were all smashed and only caught a handful of fish but he did say there were a lot of recreational boats up there.  So I guess not too much advice here, except you might want to scope out some sheltered spots that would provide cover from the recreational boats.

It's an extremely deep reservoir in a land of very deep reservoirs. Every point is that perfect 45 degree slope and I've never seen a place with so many main lake points. Fish points and stump banks. Try the back of a few coves to see if any are back spawning. If they are shaky head those areas heavily.

You need three things; shaky head, football jig, and a 6" glide bait. 90% of the fish over 5lbs come on one of those three.

Think any hudds would work?

I know a few guys that do really well on Ospreys for spots. A 6" Hudd would probably work.

Don't complicate it though. The last six world records out of there came on a shaky head and jig.

Fisherrw, you might want to check out the video- Pro Team Journal, " Left Coast Spots" featuring BASS Elite Angler Cody Meyer getting them averaging 8lbs throwing a Strike King Ocho. Hope this helps, JB
