Azar Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Hey all, Signed up to gain some knowledge and insight from you veteran anglers. I'm a guy that grew up bass fishing at my parents pond, but I knew nothing of technique or anything. To be honest, I just used what my dad had around and he wasn't big into fishing. I mainly fished plastic worms on a spinning setup on a casting rod...the pistol grip sure made it feel weird to fish, but I made due because I didn't know any better. When I got a bit older I found videogames were more entertaining and fun, so I started playing those intead of enjoying the outdoors and quickly spent most of my time indoors. Fast forward 20ish years and I'm now a dad to an ornery 2 year old that loves being outdoors. The last thing I want to do is have him shut himself in his room and play videogames, so I want to encourage his love for anything related to the outdoors...one of which is fishing when he gets a bit bigger. I've started to get back into fishing and I've already learned so much and am having a great time doing it. I just got my first baitcaster and I was out back practicing casting with a practice plug and he was out there with me helping me reel it in. He thinks it's great fun already. Can't wait to see his face when we're hooked up with a fish, he will lose his mind. Haha. Anyways, enough about me...happy to be here. Have a great day, all! Quote
Super User Darren. Posted May 8, 2017 Super User Posted May 8, 2017 Welcome aboard! 2 year olds are the best! I've got 4 boys, so plenty of experience. Yes, some of that age was terrible "Terrible Twos", but once they get past it, they get better. Until puberty hits..... Quote
