Love my Helios and Helios TCS reels. Lightweight, strong, cast great, and they feel so well put together.

Please don´t say things like that! I´ve been battling myself for a few weeks now to NOT buy an Helios Air that is for sale in a store near me for a very good price...  and you´re not helping!

You came to the wrong place if you're looking for someone to talk you out of fishing related purchases :)

Would be the responsible thing to do..

I found a Helios Air for $150 and was scrambling to buy it before someone else did, until I realized there was a defect, someone put the handle on the wrong side :(

That´s more or less the same price this one is for sale, brand new in store and with the handle on the right side... the left one:)!

I´ve been holding myself back because, first, i dont really need more reels, second, never tried an Okuma casting reel, only spinning but man...  this one shore got me thinking...

I've got the Helios spinning reel and it's phenomenal! Of course there is a HUGE group of fishermen that would try to steer you away from Okuma products. But hell if the baitcasters are as good as the spinning reel, they are worth the money.

I don't own any okuma products... yet! I'm definitely going to be purchasing a TCS rod, I'm looking for a do it all and the lure weight range and moderate action look like just what I'm looking for. Now I just need to figure out a reel for it, and the wife already put her foot down on the okuma reel:(

If I was not into Shimano, I'd be an Okuma homer.  I have their saltwater gear and they do perform great.  I have toyed on one or more occasion to try their rod line, but they aren't really available locally.  I am one of those I have to check it first hand.

I've got 2 Helios Air, but have room for another at that price.  Let me know if you don't want to buy it.  I could be persuaded to take it off the seller's hands.  :D  Don't know about longevity, but I was amazed from the first cast with this reel.  You could expect to need a bit of time getting the best out of a new reel, but my first cast and "Wow"  excellent distance.  Comes standard with ABEC5 bearings and carbon drag.  Have you checked out the review by TT in their Archives?  I have to agree setting the brake is a pain, but once set you shouldn't need to touch it.

BTW, I could use 4 or 5 of those racks.  :teeth:

I have two Helios reels and really like them.  I've been using them for several years now, and as RW said, still going strong!

Here's my review:
