Memo Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Hi, I just purchased a whole ton of 110s and to my surprise I think they might be fake. So I was hoping maybe someone here can chime in and verify if in fact they are or they aren't. The reasons are the following, on some only the middle hook is missing the barbs and they also come with no nose split ring, also it seems they got hook rash while in the box which leads me to think the finish is fake? besides that everything else seems to be ok. The colors are lively they seem identical since I got some dupes, and they all have the ITO vision 110 signature, though one seems to be peeling off. So any help is appreciated, thanks. Anyone wondering where I got them, it was at ebay, and they are the ones that have the price tag in bright orange or white, old old school type of price tag, looks like a sticker. Quote
dsqui Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 I've bought the racing version and slow float with no split ring usually they are in the old packaging...it wouldn't surprise me if someone was knocking them off the easiest way I've found to tell is the hash marks on the back /too half of lure Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted May 4, 2017 Super User Posted May 4, 2017 They are real, the center hook is indeed barb free. I'm guessing you got a great price but it doesn't matter, the finish peeling and having hook rash were some of the early complaints when that bait was first available in the states. I'm guessing what you got were new old stock that were not sold because of the problems, and like I mentioned previously, when that bait started becoming more available here, there were a lot of complaints about hook rash right out of the box and the actual finish peeling on certain patterns. Those problems have gone away since then but if they were sold on ebay, especially at a discount, chances are these were sold in a bulk lot to a vendor and are just some that had some issues. I didn't buy the 110 until it was here for about a solid year because I have read a lot of guys complaining of the same issues you have but the lack of split rings and a barbless center hook is common on the 110. 1 Quote
Memo Posted May 4, 2017 Author Posted May 4, 2017 COOL! so I guess since I got them at a good price I can just toss those 110 into the nastiest of cover and be guilt free if one of them gets lost lol. Awwwww man, is that good news, now I just need the summer to pass so I can use them. Thanks!!!! Quote
jr231 Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 I catch fish on jerkbaits in the summer lol. Many anglers make the mistake of putting them up and only using them in cold water... I'm talking mid summer , blazing heat jerkbait success ! You need to fish them faster, and target break lines. Use your search engine and look up fishing jerkbaits in summer. And you'll see many pros spilling the beans on using jerkbaits in the summer. 2 Quote

Problem is around where I'm from summer means incredible high heat, we talking bout 120F summer days. Somedays even hotter, so usually the bass are in a comatose state where all I can catch em with is soft plastics and crankbaiting deeper water where its cooler. I will however just for the sake of knowing read those or see those pro tips just in case lol. 1 Quote
JDNKC Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Sounds like they are authentic. I have dozens and they have the same characteristics. Some Have split rings others don't and the paint will wear pretty quick. My favorite baits that I have a lot of confidence in. 1 Quote
