I have the blue on a spinning reel with a leader and it looks cool!  Performance is outstanding.

Thanks for sharing!

While it looks promising, I think I will give it the Summer and see what the feedback is in the Fall

So far, I would need a good reason to move away from the 832, smackdown and gamma

Those are great lines and I am particularly fond of Smackdown, too!

I got the Mega 8 40 lb and I'm not sold on it yet.  Looks good but is so coated that I'm not convinced my leader knots are great.  Weather has been garbage here so other than one real long day, I haven't spent a ton of time with it yet.  Will give it a couple of outings to properly test.  I think for my froggin rod it will be fine.

leader knots are just asking for trouble, use straight flouro/mono or forget it. leader knot is another thing to go wrong.

Gonna have to disagree. I've never had a leader knot fail in the 13 years I've been using them. A properly tied knot is not a concern.

You are right. Leaders are trouble. That's why I use straight braid and no leader.

Lol, plenty use leaders without issue.  Plenty that don't, and also have knots fail.

I landed a 21lb flathead with a braid to leader knot in the mix. 8lb leader and had the fish in the boat in under 5 minutes, must have just gotten lucky :)

So many saltwater guys use leader to mainline knots to land fish much larger and stronger than bass. Tie a good leader knot and there will be no issues.

Not sure if this is appropriate here, but I always had luck with the Alberto knot but when I acquired a couple of rods with microguides it did occasionally hang up so I spent hours (and about 11,000 yards of line and leader) learning the FG knot. With a little dab of some type of Super Glue ONLY at the ends, it works marvelously. Just a thought if you are considering any braid with a leader.

Agreed. The FG knot is where it's at.
