Last years Veritas is on sale at Cabelas for 69.99$ The new Vendetta is for sale at 79.99. Which one is better? I dont imagine theres much of a difference, but ive heard plenty of stories about broken Veritas...

I always tend to go for the more expensive rod that is on sale. The Vendetta is a $80 rod being sold for $80, while the Veritas is a $100 rod being sold for $70. While the Veritas does have somewhat of a reputation for having bad guides, many people swear by them.

I have five veritas rods, and one of  them just broke setting the hook on a small fish. First time that's ever happened though. Another one has a problem with the guide inserts falling out. All in all though, they are great rods for under $100. Strong, sensitive, and light.

the vendetta runs that price normally. Its not on sale.

I know but this is the NEW one, its the 2017 revamp of the Vendetta model, I'm trying to ask if the NEW vendetta is better than LAST Years Veritas 2.0. Thanks,

It doesn't list a "new" one even on the Abu webpage.Where did you see a new version of it for more money?

New specs and description on abu website. Tackle tour has a review of the New Vendetta.(recently posted) The rod it self looks different. Cabelas even has the NEW badge thing next to the Vendettas on their website

Still normal price. However if the 2.0 is anything like the first gen 69.99 is a great deal for that rod.Keep in mind the run heavier than the rating.Ive broken the tip on mine a couple times but that was my fault not the rods.If you can spend another 20 bucks you should take hard look a a Falcon Bucoo.

They must be trying to get rid of their stock of Veritas 2.0 rods.  They've really been on sale a lot this year so far.  Use to retail for $119, then dropped to $99, then $79 and now $69.  Just on Monday they had them marked down to $32 on their own site.  I think they are a great rod for the price.
