I use the kvd 1.5 for my silent squarebill but I use the storm arashi 3 for my rattling one and was looking to stock up on some colors I have lost so far and was informed that the majority of the colors I use in the 3 size are now discontinued.

Amybody have some suggestions on a new squarebill to try that rattles and dives in the 3-5 ft range preferably with that same circuit board type lip?

i think the new spro russ lane squarebills would fit that profile im just not 100% sure they have rattles

6th sense crush 50x. They run true out of the box, and they are pretty durable. I haven't had to tune many after beating them into rocks and logs, so I wouldn't think you would need the circuit board lip. They have a faint rattle and a smaller frame, which for some reason, has accounted for bigger fish.

6th Sense Crush Flat 75X Crankbait has been a solid producer for me for a few years now.

I have been eyeballing the spro crankbaits both the Russ Lane and the John Crews ones.

My buying spree convinced me that I needed 2 Little Johns and a recently added Russ Lane SB. Thanks for that ;)

The mellow yellow SB looks pretty sweet if you can find it.

I love the SPRO Little John crankbait in the color cell mate.  This color has worked equally well for LMB and SMB.

Bill Lewis Echo 1.75!!! It doesn't have a circuit board lip but it takes a beating and the fish really eat it! Another good one that doesn't have the circuit board lip but handles abuse is the Yo-Zuri 3DB square bill, it too is a fish catcher. I have 2 honorable mentions, the Bagley Rattlin' Kill'R B has a slightly smaller profile than the previous models but it has a low pitch rattle that not only works in stained water but is my main square bill for clear water as well. The other is the Berkley Pitbull 5.5, I don't have a ton of time with it but so far it has been awesome, the profile is a little different and it swims a little deeper than others.

Another upvote for the 6th Sense squarebills.  I'm mainly a KVD squarebill guy but one gripe I have with them is if they don't run true they're hard to tune because the eye is half embedded into the plastic lip.  The 6th Sense eye is just above the plastic so much easier to tune.

Well, not an exact fit for your criteria, but my most productive squarebill by far is the

Norman Fat Boy (redear pattern).

Sakura Bomba Cranks! They do have rattles, great paintjobs, decente hooks and a great swimming action...  plus, the price is very nice!

I'll second this one.  I saw it recommended on here last year and have had great success with them.

They make a rattling KVD 1.5... The bass pro near me has them.  Have you tried Academy's H20 Xpress CRS??  Legit squarebill for the price.  Give it a look, you might be pleasantly surprised.

Well, now that Pradco gave the axe to the Xcalibur XCS and the Bandit Squarebill,

I'm throwing the Storm Rattling Square Bill. The #3 dives 3 ft and the #5 dives 5 ft.

There isn't a bad one mentioned above, but last week I threw the new dredgers and I was really empressed with everything about them.  I suspect they are really going to catch on this Summer.

The weighted bill gets them down fast and keeps them in the zone longer

The bandits are still good I have a few of the 100s I use them when the bite is tougher or clearer water cause they have a smaller profile. And at the beginning of this post I mentioned that the storm cranks are my go to rattling crank but they have discontinued the rattling version

Gotcha... May not get a discount at Academy, but their squarebills start at $3.99.  Totally worth that price in my opinion.  I was skeptical of them due to the off brand stigma, but they are fish catchers.

Timber Tigers.    The 3 sizes that see the most use for me are the DC4, DC5 and DC8.  They are available in a number of different colors, I like different colors for different water colors.  They make their version of a sexy shad color which is a decent all water color option.   For water with 3+ feet of visibility, the Texas Shad color works for me.  It has a dark grey back, blending to grayish/silvery sides blending to a white belly.  The sides of the bait also have a light pinkish blush.   For water with a foot and a half or less visibility the chartreuse body/purple back works for me.   Taking your red felt tip marker and making a red spot at the chin of the bait, underneath the bill works.

The DC4 and DC8 baits are labeled at half ounce and the DC5 is labeled at 3/8.   The numbers indicate depths - based on 10 lb line.   I can't bring myself to throw a square bill on 10 lb line.   14 is about as low as I go, 17 or 20 is much more likely.   Heavy line reduces the depth somewhat so it seems that I fish the DC8 much more often than the other 2.

They don't have the 3 in the colors I was looking for so I emailed them and rapala who makes the storm products and both said they are discontinued. TW is selling what is left then they won't have them anymore. If you read the original post you would know this instead of bringing up the  arashi crankbait

I have yet to find a square bill that works as well as the  LC RC 1.5.
