Tim Kelly Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 That's really bad. Here in the UK we have a universal health service where pretty much all medicine is free at the point of use. Most people have to pay a nominal amount for a prescription, but the drugs are essentially free. Sure we pay for the service in our taxes, but buying collectively makes the costs far less onerous than under your system. Being a self employed plumber, I can't imagine what my health insurance costs would be Stateside. Having a chronic illness like John would be very limiting. 1 Quote

Super User Sam Posted May 8, 2019 Super User Posted May 8, 2019 Grandkids posing for their photos. Had a big fight right after this. Things were great for about 5 minutes. Granddaughter starts the fights but grandson gets the blame. But they do clean up nice. 4 Quote

Beef on Weck. roast beef on a kummelweck roll (roll topped with caraway seeds and kosher salt) side of horseradish and au jus Glass of Crown and Coke to wash it down. 7 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted May 8, 2019 Super User Posted May 8, 2019 Beef on Weck is good. All we got is Garbage Plates, and white hots. 1 Quote
Super User Koz Posted May 10, 2019 Super User Posted May 10, 2019 Back when I was in the tech field coding apps and developing web platforms for a publishing company the company decided to add aerial photography to its services and since I was the I got to fly the drone and shoot photos and video. It was fun to an extent, but it was also a pain because people were always complaining about spying. Even with the proper FAA credentials the town clamped down on use of drones and it basically shut down our aerial services. The photo below is of Shelter Cover Harbor on Hilton Head Island, SC. But what's cool about this photos is that it's actually 12 separate photos that I took with the drone and stitched together to make this one picture. This photo is greatly reduced in size and quality from the original. 10 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted May 10, 2019 Super User Posted May 10, 2019 14 years goes by fast. I was almost dead when I took this self portrait. I couldn't feel my legs, and I went partially blind. I was down to 112 lbs. despite eating all the time, and constantly hungry/thirsty. Turns out, I had late onset Type 1 diabetes mellitus. 4 1 Quote

They constantly chase off the hummingbirds from the feeders here. Have some kind of little bird make a nest next to one of the outside cameras has 5 babys in the nest I want to try and get a picture of. 2 Quote

Our neighbor gave my wife an Oriole feeder a few days ago and she’s gone through almost a half jar of grape jelly! Eating all that sugar pretty soon they’ll be too big to fly. 1 Quote
Way north bass guy Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 It was way too wet to work outside today, so I went shopping. Managed to find a new boat puller that I pretty much got at cost. Hopefully it’s drier tomorrow so I can get back to work to pay for it. 8 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted May 14, 2019 Global Moderator Posted May 14, 2019 I took my boys to a Touch-a-Truck in town last weekend so momma could have some quiet time. It was a really nice day out, I think Lake probably could have taken a nap in the resting spot he found while he was eating his sucker. 7 Quote

My brother drives OTR and participates in something similar every year. He also does a "trucker buddy" program with the school districts. Kind of a pen pal deal where the kids write letters and do a Q&A. It helps break up the monotony of being on the road. 3 Quote
