Cheaper than the real one. 3599 pieces?! We got a Lego Technic dragster for our son for Christmas. That was his first Technic and we both like putting it together and liked the finished product. We didn’t realize until we started to put it together that it actually goes, and is pretty quick too. I think he’ll be getting more Technics in the future. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted April 23, 2019 Super User Posted April 23, 2019 Back in the 70s, they were called "Expert" sets. This is my 4th super car. So far everything works, steering, independent suspension, the V-16, even has a the pancake transmission with a shifter and synchros. It's nuts. (79 steps to complete. I'm in the 400s. Quote

Harold Scoggins Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 Ardie was 19 years old the day he gave his life for his brothers and country. MEDAL OF HONOR CITATION Specialist Four Ardie R. Copas distinguished himself by acts of gallantry and intrepidity above and beyond the call of duty while serving as a Machine gunner in Company C, 1st Battalion (Mechanized), 5th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division during combat operations against an armed enemy near Ph Romeas Hek, Cambodia on May 12, 1970. That morning, Specialist Four Copas’ company was suddenly attacked by a large hostile force firing recoilless rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, and automatic weapons. As Specialist Four Copas began returning fire, his armored car was struck by an enemy recoilless round, knocking him to the ground and injuring four American Soldiers beside the vehicle. Ignoring his own wounds, Specialist Four Copas quickly remounted the burning vehicle and commenced firing his machinegun at the belligerents. Braving the hostile fire directed at him and the possible detonation of the mortar rounds inside the track, Specialist Four Copas maintained a heavy volume of suppressive fire on the foe while the wounded Americans were safely evacuated. Undaunted, Specialist Four Copas continued to place devastating volleys of fire upon the adversary until he was mortally wounded when another enemy round hit his vehicle. Specialist Four Copas’ daring action resulted in the safe evacuation of his comrades. Specialist Four Copas’ extraordinary heroism and selflessness at the cost of his own life, above and beyond the call of duty, are in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit and the United States Army. 7 2 Quote

Super User Jigfishn10 Posted April 29, 2019 Super User Posted April 29, 2019 Finally had the first games (doubleheader) of the season after 3 weekends in a row of rainouts. My 14 y/o son just started pitching last year. In this outing he went 4 innings and gave up 2 runs, 1 unearned. Fastball, curveball and changeup were all working. Needed Clorox for the curveball, it was filthy yesterday. Sorry, proud dad here. 7 Quote

I never let my pitchers (12 yo) try them. Got boardslides down, both backside and frontside, as well as 180 ollie blunt stalls. Still can't do any nose tricks. Proof is in the scratches. Oh yeah, he asked me to show him one in little league and I showed him a changeup instead. He just started throwing the curve. Amazing how much bad information there's on the web with some pitches. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 30, 2019 Global Moderator Posted April 30, 2019 Wife took me out for birthday dinner at a BBQ place I'd never been to that was supposed to have great BBQ nachos, I was not disappointed. They come out on a 9x13 pan, so they don't skimp on serving size either. I couldn't finish them. 9 Quote
