kenmitch Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 Baitmonkey rewarded me with a freebie yesterday at the lake. I found it floating with line attached to it still. Silly me cut the line instead of pulling it in too see if there was a rod and reel still attached too it. I thought it was a cheap lure at 1st till I googled it. Lucky Craft LC 1.5 spin. Just needs a quick cleaning as it's in really great shape still. I'd imagine it was lost over the weekend. 4 Quote

Corrosion on the hooks says it's probably been there a little longer than a few days unless you're fishing brackish water. I'd take the swivel and spinner off and fish it if it were me. I haven't gotten out much to look for baits this winter but the ones I've found have been better than average. Just the last few times I've walked I've found a 128 Pointer in American Shad, a Loon 110 Plopper, a bluegill 130 Plopper, a Table Rock shad 100 Pointer, and a gold Megabass Vision 110 to go along with a bunch of KVD 1.5, 5XD, 6XDs, Bombers, PopRs, and other Misc baits. Harold Scoggins Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 Say hello to Recil. Recil Troxel, a WWII veteran from Marlow, Oklahoma, sits by his window everyday waiting for the mail. His daughter says that he receives no bills and that letters are far and few between, but still, he waits for the mailman everyday. If you would like to send Recil a card or a letter, PM me and I'll give you his address. 10 Quote
Super User Koz Posted February 2, 2019 Super User Posted February 2, 2019 Photo from last spring of my then 12 year old son pitching at Shipyard Park in Mt. Pleasant, SC. He's grown 5 inches and put on 25 pounds of muscle since then and it will be interesting to see how hard he throws this season. He topped out at 68 MPH last season and set a goal to hit 80 MPH by the end of this year. That's a tall task. Unfortunately, this winter he was goofing off with some friends throwing a tennis ball too hard and strained his shoulder. That meant no winter hitting or throwing program and he missed tryouts for the high school JV team (he's in 7th grade). But he has a clean bill of health now and this weekend we're headed to the ballpark and next week he starts middle school ball. I won't be coaching him until the summer travel ball season starts so for a while I'll get to be a dad in the stands taking pictures. 8 Quote

Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted February 6, 2019 Global Moderator Posted February 6, 2019 Over 14" dumped on us last week and the kids had no school at all last week. Now the snow is completely gone and we got a decent ice even last night. No school for the kids today either. Tomorrow mixed accumulation and temps near 50 and quickly dropping to 17 creating what is called a 'flash freeze'. Absolutely the worst, if you've never experienced it be thankful. 3 1 Quote

Arcs&sparks Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Some of you inland and southern folks might find this entertaining, very common sight all winter for us in the northeast. Some guys out surfing in February-Kennebunk Beach Maine. 3 Quote

Even in the summer that water was cold - these guys are insane. Quote

Don't know what it's like now, but this was back in the 60s when we lived in Worcester. We did three-year cycles. Cape Cod one year, Lake Winnipesaukee the next, Kennebunkport the third...then start over. 1 Quote
