Russ E Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 Just got the boat Serviced yesterday and decided to try one last fishing trip before Christmas. Worked hard to get 8 bass in the boat today. a couple 2 pounders were the largest . One of these days I will figure out these winter cooling lake fish. Thanks @Bluebasser86. After talking to you I switched over to a rattletrap and got a few more in the boat. Even though the Shakyhead is my go to winter bait. It was not the ticket today. It always amazes me how shallow these fish can be in winter. the 2 pounder in the picture hit a rattle trap in 1 foot of water. 8 Quote
Heartland Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 8 fish on Dec 21 in KS sounds like a good day to me. Good looking fish. 1 Quote

I lost a big one right after we talked to you that pulled off a crankbait, had 3 big ones come off today, not sure why. Still managed 3 keepers and 17 bass plus a bunch of bass, a heartbreaker of a drum, a catfish, and a huge gizzard shad. 3 Quote
Way north bass guy Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 Just started two weeks holidays, best way to get things started is on the couch with the wife and a bottle of wine and the best movie ever made (at least for this time of year). 6 1 Quote

I caught most of the fish after I talked to you in the cove past the outlet. didn't catch anything on the cold side of the lake, but I was marking a lot of fish by the power lines. I need to get over the winter cold water lake mentality. these warm water fish seem to hold a lot shallower. 1 Quote

Russ E Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 Merry Christmas everyone. I received a holiday greetings e-mail from Kast King, with this picture. Thought the Whitetails were an interesting take on the St. Nick theme. 4 Quote
