Interestingly, I watched Mr Boatnick drop his Fish & Ski on the ramp two days ago right after I launched (thank you very much). He (and his whole family) seemed surprised & pretty upset. The sheer number of confused faces was fairly epic. A-Jay 2 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted August 24, 2018 Super User Posted August 24, 2018 There's a couple ramps around here I would not undo the bow strap until the boat was floating, but they were really steep. There's one on my home waters that is so steep, I've seen smaller vehicles get dragged down the ramp. Most state ramps are so shallow, I have to back the truck in where the water is half to the hubs on the back wheels. 1 Quote

LOL BTW did anybody notice the skid mark on the road? ? Quote
Super User J Francho Posted August 24, 2018 Super User Posted August 24, 2018 Yeah, I saw that. It wouldn't bee too bad a repair, unless he wore clear through the hull. Quote

I guess we give him points for thinking outside the box? LOL This is pretty perplexing as there are no water marks on the pavement, so its not like he just got it out of the water. Thats a pretty flat road, I wouldn't think it just slid off. Drag racing? Swindle convinced him it would be like a tractor pull? 1st step in getting a fiberglass boat converted to a jet boat? 1 Quote

I would have come up with a fictional name at least. ? 24 minutes ago, BassNJake said: This is pretty perplexing as there are no water marks on the pavement, so its not like he just got it out of the water. I hope the story comes out as to what in the hell happened! It sure does look flat. I bet his drivers seat changed colors. 3 Quote

He was in line to launch and I was in line to load. 4 hours ago, BassNJake said: This is pretty perplexing as there are no water marks on the pavement, so its not like he just got it out of the water. My brother in law had an old Sylvan deep v with a roller trailer. it sucked to load. Quote

Even looks a bit like a stealth bomber/fighter with the exception of color. The wicked part, though, is when you turn the pic upside down. Looks really wicked that way. 1 Quote

Way north bass guy Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 Instead of playing with the shiny black thing on the right today, I dealt with the big brown pile to the left ( d**n you winter!). It’s all good though because tomorrow I’m off to my parents for four days of chasing huge, dumb northern Ontario smallies, the bass thumb will be good and raw by the time I come home and that’s all right by me. 10 1 Quote

A-Jay Surprisingly most of the lakes in the area we fish don’t have huge numbers of pike, especially the little ones. But there are some “nicer sized” fish that will find your bait every now and again ?. 8 1 Quote

That was a couple years ago near the end of September. I’d love to get back up there either later in the fall or right at ice out to see what else I can find, but so far I’ve only been there in the warmer season. It’s about a 3-1/2 hour drive from me, and I’m already 2-1/2 hours north of Toronto. Quote
Rahlow Posted August 27, 2018 Posted August 27, 2018 Home made out of 2 car hoods, some where around 1940 models. Edit to say: My girlfriends cousin contacted another cousin who fished out of this boat in the French Broad river near Asheville, NC, he told her the hoods were from 1940 Fords, as is the center section which is from the roof of a 1940 Ford. 4 1 2 Quote
