Stumbled on an obvious spot that I’ve never seen anyone on. Hiding in plain sight!  The one with the blood was 4.4, and bleeding stopped and was released just fine......could not hold her mud!

Kids were pretty creative with this one. Named her Belle because she's a beauty now but will soon turn into a beast.

I tend not to worry about my boat when it is on my son's dock......

What made it an "obvious" spot? From here it looks no better nor worse than anywhere else

It's a very small 10' deep flat in the middle of ledges that drop to 50 feet on 2 sides and 25 feet on the other.  If you don't color code you depths on your electronics, it's unlikely you will notice.

The charts of the lake don't show contour lines, only numbered depths.

It is across from the most popular cove on the lake and have never seen anyone their.

Edit:  All the other flats are very well market.  This one should be as it would be a hazard for sailboats when the water drops.

Took the boys to Dinosaurs Alive yesterday. Tried to get a picture with Lake, but he was too worried about the T-Rex that suddenly started moving on the other side of the room to look at the camera ?

Two issues of In-Fisherman...the very first issue from 1975, and the most recent one from July 2018, 43 years between them. Pretty cool reading through both of them this weekend B)

Not really bragging about the fish. Just the back ground.

One of the best things about having a significant other who's manager of a marina is when the water tanks aren't rented they're free.

Nice shot from yesterday showing the thermocline setting up at 20 ft and the fish relating to it sitting just on/above that level.

Hey A-Jay, do you mind maybe pushing some of that rain your getting over my way. We’ve not had a drop in about 4 weeks at least and I’m getting mighty sick of watering the flowers and veggies. Just right over here where the red X is, thanks ?.

If'n I could ~ I surely would.  And we're getting drenched as we speak - it's good though - we need it too.

And as a trade  - please be ready to send us some snow any time between January right through & including March.

Bummed when we run out.  If it's gonna be 30-40 below - might as well have it.

Besides, without it the dog sledding gets particularly challenging.

I’ll see what I can do ?.

its getting pretty bad around here, complete burning ban everywhere and there’s way too many forest fires burning not all that far north of us. All it would take is someone’s careless toss of a cigarette butt and we’d be in trouble.

Here's to several heavy bands of spiraling precipitation in your immediate future.

(That's what we're getting now).

Mama and babies out for an evening stroll. Mama didn't like it when I stopped the car for my wife to take pictures, she charged right at at us, bouncing babies in tow the whole way. Watched their periscope tails swaying throw the grass after she decided she'd ran us off far enough. I hope they're eating their body weight in bugs each day.
