Up here the ice will move and tear docks all to hell and sometimes either push them way up on shore or relocate them to someone else’s shoreline. Usually after a couple weeks all the docks, timbers, sticks, untied canoes, lawn chairs etc. get pushed up on the rocks enough that they don't float around the lake any more. Quote

That would certainly make things sporting with all that debris! Quote

It may be too late, but rather than make the claim to your insurance company, you can make the demand for the cost of the repair directly to him (in writing). If he refuses to pay or claims he doesn't have the money, take it to small claims. His wages can be attached or his property (such as his motorcycle) could be forfeited. I don't mean to sound like a cold-hearted jerk, but it bothers me to see someone like yourself, following the rules and having done nothing wrong, be out $500 bucks and have your insurance rates increased. Meanwhile, he shirks the responsibility of his actions and then goes on to do it to someone else. At the very least, have him pay the $500 deductible. I'll get off my soapbox now...? Wow, do you have to go through all of this in the Liberal Republic of California?! That's insane. Everything you describe is done for me by my insurance company. In fact, State Farm has done this for me twice. Two times I've been hit by uninsured driver's, I've paid my deductible, and they have wrung the money out of the other party without requiring me to do anything at all. They always get their money FIRST, but I eventually got my deductible back on both occasions. It once took ten years for them to get me my $250 deductible! I was shocked when I got the check in the mail! LOL! 1 Quote

Tim Kelly Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 Made a start on getting Labbos ready for the new season. Front deck framing almost finished, battery tray made and attached. Trolling motor fitted. Outboard fitted. Not how I'd originally planned to do the framing, but actually I think it will be better. 10 Quote

Its no big deal for me to write a letter and if need be, file a small claims action. To each his own. As for your view of California, it's big cities are the same color blue as Chicago in your home state of Illinois. Where I live, Orange County, is very red. In fact, it has made headlines nationally and even was the subject of a presidential tweet for its choice to publically ignore California's sanctuary city laws. So your description and jab isn't really too accurate as it applies to where I live. 2 Quote
frosty Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 It’s finally nice enough to get out and get some yard work done, and the boy discovered how cool fire is ? 9 Quote
Way north bass guy Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 After over 5 months, we finally got floating again! Was a bit chilly with the wind and 37deg. water temps but I don’t care?. We only trolled for a half hour or so for lakers, this was mostly just a trip to clear out the cobwebs and setup the new Helix mega, and wow, I’m impressed with it! The detail is amazing even compared to my gen1 helix, I could make out very small wind marks on a deep water beach area, and clam beds in 20+feet. It’s gonna be awsome when pike season starts next weekend. Still a bit of ice in a few bays, should be all gone in a couple days with the heat wave that’s coming (finally). 8 Quote

Should probably buy a lottery ticket! Thank god you're OK. That had to get you're heart racing. You lose the tire/wheel, everything? On a lighter side, if you file a insurance claim, don't forget to add the stain remover for the drivers seat. Once again glad you're OK 4 Quote
