That photo makes me want to yell, "SQUIRREL!"     ?

Their second favorite attention-getter is "RAT!"

This has been my base camp for the last two days. Wife came down with covid last Saturday, we had her quarantined to the third floor of the house, but it didn’t matter. She probably passed it on to me before we even knew she had it.
So far it hasn’t been too bad, just a bit achy, slight fatigue and some congestion. The wife was way worse for a few days, but she’s on the mend now, and I am actually starting to feel a bit better this afternoon as well. I even managed to get out of my jammies today and into some real daytime clothes ?

Hey!  It's the same all over!  Me too.  Only I came down with it first and my wife is just starting her symptoms.  We are both fully vaccinated.  I felt like I had the flu yesterday with aches and coughing up stuff but I'm already feeling better today.  Like a mild flu.

Next time make calamari. The rings are much tastier.

No but, If I'm going thru the effort, I'll drop a few extra bucks. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good onion ring. I prefer them lightly breaded. There's a few restaurants around here that serve onion ring "bricks". I could polish down a brick by myself if I really wanted to.

Named one of the top three onion rings in the entire USA. Funny thing is, they’re not rings at all. Made with fresh, sweet Spanish onions and breaded with Carmen’s Special Batter, they’re a gently packed loaf of crispy, curly, crunchy goodness.

There’s nothing else like them in the Chicago area. Maybe the world.

If you do choose to get it, Buy it cleaned...and clean it more. Use a light breading and DO NOT OVERCOOK IT. It's done after a minute or two.

There's a Greek restaurant here  https://www.psistaria.com/ that has the best calamari I have ever had. If you ever get to Chicago, it's a must stop. Better than the calamari.... if you order a drink from the bar, it's old school. Get a $10 Jack Black and you're done for the night. Unlike the chain restaurants that serve you a $20 drink and it takes 3 to catch a buzz.

Apparently there was some sort of important raccoon union meeting held on top of my truck last night. Tracks literally from bumper to bumper. No idea why, I never keep any food or garbage in the truck for any smells to attract animals.

Agree.

If by chance you do overcook it, then cook the crap out of it to make em edible again. It works!

Newist addition to the family- 8wk old retriever the kids named Riggins. The Bernards don't know what to do with him and it's quite entertaining seeing a pup own a couple giant dogs.  ?

You haven’t been married long enough to say no, so what are you going to name the pup?

At 7:30 this morning, all that was there was 4 post saddles sticking out of 4 sonotubes full of concrete. At 7:30 this evening I cleaned up the last scrap of wood. Not a bad days work for an old stonemason. This will be the new year round home for the boat, and some other things as well. 15’ wide by 27’ long, gonna cover in the sides before winter to keep the weather out, but for now it’s at least a good roof over her head. Better than the tarp shed it’s been in for several years now.
