Not a photo but probably the funniest thing I’ve seen in quite a while! I’m not a tik tok person but my wife sent this and I laughed my  hind quarters off! Does your reaction really slow that much as you age? ?

You know I’m going to try it……and no I won’t post the video. If there’s a Mrs. 12poundbass that joins this site, just ignore any and all posts from that account!

Here’s an update on the sewer project I posted pictures about a few weeks back. I stopped by to check on the progress and talked with the superintendent on site and they won’t be to my mess of gas for a couple weeks yet. I told him I’m interested to see how they’re going to do it and he response, “I’m interested to see how we’re going to do it too”. ?

For today’s pic, it’s a mess of phone cable and fiber optic cables that need to be rerouted before they get to this point.

That’s a fine looking mess indeed! We’re just in the process of getting fibre optic lines run through our part of the world right now, they just ran the line under the road to our side today ( we’re the only house on this side of the road). It was pretty cool to watch the drill pop out of the ground, then watch them pull the line back through to the other side. The whole time I watched, I was thinking about you, and that you must see this stuff all the time. It’s amazing the technology they have nowadays to run wires/pipes etc underground without disturbing the surface at all.

Yup it’s pretty cool the things they can do with those directional drill rigs. How they can put quite the bend in their bore shot, they can go with the cure of the road without coming up and resetting is pretty amazing. I’ve seen the small rigs that can only do about 250 feet at a time to specialized rigs that are on a semi trailer that can do over 1000 feet at a time! The bore head that pokes out of the ground is $5000 alone. I always say those bore rigs are the best utility locator in the business, because they will find anything in the ground and destroy it. Lol I had a 3/8” gas line one time I located years ago and a bore rig found it. They had from here to China to miss it but that bore rig found it! I saw another one pull back conduit and it had about 300 feet of parking lot wire from a car dealership it had found on it’s way back. ?

I could go on forever with the stories.

During my nightly walks with my 75lb pooch Lillie the highlight is when she cries her 130lb boyfriend Brody over to the fence gate for a sniff. That's as good as it gets for this pair though, until this day. For once he was having a walk while we were out.

Lillie cried when she saw him, then pulled me right up to him, but immediately spun out like a top with her hind quarters down and yelped. She repeated this game of running up to him, spinning away, and yelping several times until in total frustration Brody reared up, howled, then flattened himself to the ground making himself appear as small as possible. Comforted, she finally came in for a proper sniff, and he got a muzzle lick in.

Wow! I'm not sure I would want to be in a trench box that far down, especially in what OSHA would consider confined space.

Sorry, to dicey for this guy!

That trench box looks pretty stout, I wouldn’t have an issue with it. Interesting you brought that up because just last Friday there were two guys killed at a house in my area when their trench collapsed on them. The head scratcher about it was one of them was a first responder so you would’ve thought he knew better.

They are, but being in an area less than 40ish square feet or less, 22' into the earth is not - in 12poundbass' lexicon - my can of Miller Lite. Capice? :)

Had an OK bike-fish with Lou last week.

Picked River Rd. on the upper Pedernales for the great bike ride - the bike ride was great, the fishing so-so for low flow in our current minor drought (next time, I'll pick the middle Guadalupe in Kendall Co., where you're also not allowed to park cars at county road crossings).

At least got the Nyu-kon on my 1500C and Smith UL stream casting rod - it now knows what it is.  Sorry about the water on the lens - Texas Brook Trout
