Tucker was a bit of a train wreck as a pup,

My pups in front of a space heater.

Heck, even south Louisiana has been dropping into/will be in the 20s. All those shivering gators! ?

I love the sound of a good howl. Hank will let a good one out once in a great while. I’m guessing pups have a youtle? We have a nice coyote pack around the house that lets out a good youtel. (Spelling is off I’m guessing)

Yotes everywhere here - always hear them but Never see them.

Tracks a few times a year but they keep their distance for the most part.

They left us a headless rabbit a couple of weeks ago.

Tank & Kya will yip but they haven't got the real howl thing down yet.

You let them sleep inside in a warm

house All night and they act so pitiful when they go outside in the morning. Actually the one on the left has thick fur, she doesn’t care. But my buddy on the right reluctantly walked outside and laid right on top of her for warmth. It’s currently 23 but it’s getting up to 50 by the afternoon. C679-AC23-4232-4-D33-9760-5-E531642225-F

Below is the warmth strategy after the sun gets high enough (yesterday about 10 am)

I don't think New Englanders can appreciate how cold 23* is in Tennessee.

23* and sun is sweatshirt weather here. 23* and sun and you’re  active outside you’ll probably be pulling up your sleeves here.

50* and sunny here in February and you’re likely to see shirtless ice fisherman. ?

I have the B.A.S.S. reprint of this book, also - and for everyone else, the e-book is free on googlebooks.

Totally different subject, though I sometimes carry a multipiece rod in a half-frame bag to fish headwaters crossings where parking a car isn't allowed:

What a weather window we had yesterday, before the ice storm gets here on Wed.

I got in a badly needed 30-mi bike ride.

It felt so good compared to when I was dragging in the morning, wondering if I was going to get out in the cold.

Classic Texas fashion, my layers were peeled after 8 mi, and it warmed into mid-60s, clear and light S breeze.

@A-Jay Thanks for the acknowledgement.

My 72-y-o kayak-fishing and classic-steel-bike buddy Lou recently retired from the business world, and took up a part-time city job as a Trail Steward.

He chose four 4-hour shifts a week, carrying tools, a gallon of water and dog dish on a heavy city upright bicycle. Each shift is a minimum 20-mi ride (round) between two trailheads on the greenways, and a postman's response to the weather.

The job is more like trail moderator, reporting graffiti and vagrants, picking up glass, repairing flats, stuck brakes and dropped chains - the city keeps track of him on real-time gps.

He's going to be hard as a rock, but the first couple of weeks making those rides without a day to recover took a toll on him - and just after a few weeks, he's limber as all get-out.
