I came home feeling a bit worn out from work but something came over me.

Chicken fried steak and it was supposed to stop there, but then I came across some onions and mushrooms that were going to go bad if they weren’t used. So I made an onion and mushroom gravy to smother them in.

Unfortunately, I sometimes lose my appetite after I cook so heck — I’m going to go to the gym, worn out or not, lol.??

My 17 year old son can probably eat half of this by himself, lol.

That bottom pic kind of reminds me of Filipino tocino. Yum.

Yup we’ve gotten snow the past couple days. Nothing much that’ll stick around, but enough to let us know what’s coming.

My view from one of the trips last week. Snow on the ground this morning with 20 mph winds, but hope to be back after them sometime next week once this passes.

From the foothills of the Judith Mountains, a bird hunter's (and bird dogs') view of a distant Lewistown, Montana. Later we spotted a mule deer buck tucked safely within one of the folds of land.

Reminds me of the land we used to hunt in NW Nebraska. I absolutely love that area and would love to live out there some day.

Been fortunate enough to live out in Montana for two to four weeks for the last three years in the fall. I feel the same way, though, having grown up in northern New York near the Canadian border, I harbor no delusions of the joy in living with four months of extreme cold and snow.

Get to bass fish all year down year ?

Slept in too late to see the big eclipse this morning ( was about 4 am here), but I got some nice pics when I did get up. With the snow on the field, the first pic is so bright it looks like the sun, but it was at 6:20. The second pic is an hour later, just as the moon was setting.

here

An anxious sunset on Arroyo Colorado fishing dock (far S. Texas).

This is a barge channel than runs from Lower Laguna Madre ICW to Port Harlingen, in the tidal zone right where the natural arroyo and barge channel diverge to opposite ends of Peyton Bay. Will be here Dec 2 to 6 for the new moon.

My brother shot out my way last weekend to wade for a few hours just before light rain was supposed to move through the area. Right before the rain was forecast to begin the strangest undulating horizontal cloud formations quickly rolled in over us. I wouldn't have been surprised if an alien mothership broke through the spectacle and landed in the lake. A few minutes later a tornado alert came in over our phones. It was calm at that very moment, but it didn't last. We were fishing just about as far as we could've been from the entrance, and within about 5 minutes into our walk back insane wind, rain, and crazy lightning bolts were upon us. We ran as fast as we could while navigating tree roots that crisscrossed our path out, and fallen leaves that made things very slippery. Hail was next, so by the time I got back to my truck I was soaked through and covered in hailstones. Three tornadoes touched down, but nowhere near us. Oh, and we didn't get a nibble, but we're not dead, so that's cool.

Do you know who this is?

7-CA5-E9-F6-ABAF-41-E8-ABA6-178-F1-E13-D

Did some cleaning up and came across this treasure. Yup. This shirt is from way back. I don’t recall if it was born on BRR or some old defunct bass fishing forum but I do recall a whole bunch people agreed it was a great idea to make such a shirt. Someone designed and while many agreed to buy one, sadly I think many bailed out and I believe I am one of the few who bought one.

I love this shirt but I’ll never wear it for a number of reasons, the primary one is for preservation sake. The other is why would I want a monkey on my back, lol? He’s better in his cage.

He did get out a couple of times this season, long enough to make me get a Daiwa Aird X. ??
