We went out early this morning. The weather was ok at first, then the wind picked up and a brief shower rolled in. This was the only catch of the day, wrong color bass but it was a bass. We saw a giant lake trout swim by us, but wanted no part of what we were offering. All in all we had fun.

RED FOX

This pair of reds visited our backyard every day.

Sadly, sarcoptic mange wiped out our local fox population, now we see 1 or 2 a year.

My grandson caught 25 fish or so last Saturday and I had to drag him off the lake. I guess boys will be boys and girls will be girls.

What will the diet of an alligator that large mostly consist of? Do they eat a lot of deer?

Like any predator, their diet depends chiefly on opportunity.

As for deer, a gator half that size could easily take down a deer.

They begin by snatching one of the deer’s limbs, then drag it underwater until it drowns.

To devour a large animal, a gator will chomp down on the desired cut,

then roll violently on its own axis, until the flesh is torn off the animal.

They get'r done without any knives, forks or oven    :naka:

I’ve never really paid attention to the ‘ejection handle’ if you will on a trunk lid, until I was getting something out of our trunk today and I have to admit it made me chuckle.

Glad I was just moving it down the street for our garage sale this weekend. Not excited about getting to put new leaf springs on the trailer though. Pulled it down the street and hit a little pothole and heard a "pop", wheel well was sitting on top of the tire when I got out.

Soooooo...throw a frog I guess?

This is the south end of Crab Orchard Lake in southern Illinois.  The lily field is around 1000 acres.  Yes, there is a boat ramp but a buoy line prevents boaters from venturing into the lilies.  You can only motor along a causeway to a bridge which accesses the area to the north.  So now you know where all the lunkers are...

Well I found one heavier duty leaf spring in stock in the store I went to and got it mostly installed. Axle is 3" tall, spring is 2", I bought 6" U-bolts and they're a good inch too short?? They were the longest square ones they had so I guess I'll be ordering some. Already ordered the other leaf spring for the other side of the boat to upgrade it too.

Sometimes you need a little more reach and a little more torque. First I've ever used my pedestal post for anything actually.
