Well, that's better than a spring-clip flying off into the void...had that happen one time when I was servicing my old Abu 500R. Took me two weeks of calls and visits before I found the proper replacement...this was before the internet existed.

I have a big magnet on hand to sweep the floor with in an emergency, but it's very strong and can be difficult to remove tiny pieces from. I've got a special name for those clips, but it can't be repeated here.

Had a reel that was just screaming (literally every cast), for attention. Well it got it, all the way down to the frame. I only had 1 panic moment when I dropped a tiny pin that supports the clutch cam plate. By some miracle, I was able to spot it on the floor.

I've been repairing and restoring OP's antique reels as a hobby business for a couple of decades.

I always work in a shoebox to catch the tiny parts

They still get away - always on the hard floor, never on carpet...

A bicycle headlight is the tool for me to find them.

I hadn't noticed that a mating pair of Robins had built a nest in my deck joists, but by the time I did she'd laid 3 eggs, so I let it ride. I became a bit obsessed with their process, but figured there wouldn't be a chance of me being home once they were ready to fly. It just so happened that I was. The 1st to take the leap was already in a bush once I'd heard the chirps, but I got to see the other two go. Neat.

My fishing is basically done for the year, but the Mrs kills it after a few glasses of wine on a Ned rig.

@Jigfishn10 It's been more than a few years, but we were out on a big cuddy like that on red snapper opening day (so long ago, opening day was in April).

My buddy bought the charter in a church benefit auction.

He had the first boat I had seen with AIM navigation, and pretty trick to watch him find invisible reefs in his GPS memory.

We caught so many, we fished through our bait, and I got up on the bow with a fly rod, catching blues for cut bait.

We brought home this samsonite, taken on cut blue.

It's also nice to know if you have GPS-DSC and MMSI registration, a big boat like that can see your kayak on his nav screen...

You want to see money? Look up Miami River on youtube. Bunch of different "youtubers" filming boats and broads in bikinis.

The Haulover inlet YouTube videos have some nice boats too, and plenty of idiots spearing waves and some even swamping their boats.

Another post about a friend moving to Minnesota reminded me of this. My buddy Steve moved to the banks of Minnetonka many years ago and I completely lost touch with him when is phone was disconnected and I had no other way of contacting him. The first time we fished together was back when I was guiding for flatheads. I put him on this 47 pounder. We got along so well that we kept going fishing together all over and became good friends.  I'm sure he's still harassing the pike, musky, and bass in Tonka just like he said he was going to do when he moved there.

I lost the pic of the boat with a pool on the back deck. Maybe this weekend if I’m not fishing I’ll take a ride down there.

Alrighty then, last one.

So do I dunk the Ned rig in the wine before every cast?  I'm willing to do whatever to catch fish...

Everybody was fishing yesterday in Lake Verret, Louisiana. For the record, I got one more bass that it did along this stretch of shoreline. It must have been very comfy because water temp was 95!
