We have the Munsters plague of oak caterpillars. You can tie a really good fly on a 200R hook, a pair of goose biots for the clinging tail, olive wool dubbing with gold wire wrap and black thread to finish the head. Tying this fly can be creepy - you keep checking your hair, back of your neck, and inside the back of your shirt for the one that's crawling on you. 1 Quote
John Dingman Sr. Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 How do you post photos on this site? it doesn't matter if I resize them or not it will not let me post them. Quote

You can upload to your gallery here and link to them or use a free or paid 3rd party image hosting site. Just right click the image and choose copy image URL, then paste it directly here in the reply and the forum does the rest. New toy.... Phosphorus Bronze is a strange beast, but definitely what I was looking for in a change from the 5-ply maple I've been using for half a decade. More controlled high ends, and a walluping bottom end, even when tuned to what I'd call fairly high pitched. It's also 6.5" deep. I've only ever used 5" or 5.5" snare drums. 8 Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted April 15, 2021 Super User Posted April 15, 2021 Another pond, another Gator. @John Dingman Sr. You can do it two ways. The easy way is to find a picture re-sizer app and download it onto your device. I downsize mine to 50% size and it works fine every time. Then come here and click on add files- photo library, and pick the picture you just resized. The other way takes twice as long . Try the easy way first.? 5 Quote

Super User PhishLI Posted April 19, 2021 Super User Posted April 19, 2021 It's rare when I come across anything furry and larger than a muskrat around here, so this cute guy was a surprise. It was a cool one-with-nature moment for me, so please refrain from commenting about how tasty they are roasted with hot sauce and cilantro. Thank you. 6 1 Quote

Live in coon country where they are heavily hunted and yet to here of anyone considering them as a delicacy. Lol Beautiful creatures nonetheless. 1 Quote

In my slow witted Brooklynese Italiano/Shanty Irish imagination just about anything might end up in a hillbilly casserole. I stand corrected. Grazie! 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 20, 2021 Global Moderator Posted April 20, 2021 BBQ'd they're edible but greasy. Put enough good BBQ sauce on about anything and it becomes edible though. Mainly you have to worry about stumbling across one of the ones that has an attitude. I got chased down the bank by a great big one once while I was night fishing. Stumbled on one that had found a fresh dead carp on the bank and I guess he thought I wanted to share. I still have scars on the inside of my thigh from trying to dive over a briar patch to get away from that growling, gnashing beast. 4 1 Quote
