Super User GreenPig Posted April 11, 2021 Super User Posted April 11, 2021 I shoot Carpenter Bees out of the air with my Daisy Pal BB gun. The last mistake they make is zoom up on me and hover in place. They can't dodge a BB at 275 fps. 3 Quote

Do they make carpenters? they love old barns and structures built with saw mill lumber. they bore holes into anything constructed of wood and keep tunneling as they go. older treated lumber kept them at bay but the newer stuff doesn’t. they can be destructive if you let them get out of hand. Just as destructive are the woodpeckers that treat carpenter bee hives as all-you-can-eat buffets. Carpenter bees are fairly important pollinators, but I respect that people don't want them (and the birds that think they're delicious) boring holes their fences and whatnot. Quote

galyonj Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 Well clearly the squirrels are the problem. Otherwise the alarm wouldn't be a squirrel alarm. 1 Quote
