They just showed up on our shore, my guess is someone dropped them off at the inlet. Our neighbor said they’ve been around for a couple weeks now. He keeps fattening them up like that and they’ll be in fine shape for thanksgiving “guests” ?. 2 Quote

BigAngus752 Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 I was bank fishing in the western U.P. and felt this eerie feeling like someone was watching me the whole time... 4 Quote
Tim Kelly Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 I was supposed to be going out to sea in a boat today, but the weather foiled that plan. Instead we took my boat on the river. It's been tough this year generally, but today capped it all. Almost impossible to get more than a tap off the fish. By the end of the day the dog gave me this look. I feel like I've let her down. 3 6 Quote
Super User J._Bricker Posted September 24, 2020 Super User Posted September 24, 2020 A welcome sight this morning on the Delta as I headed East, a clear blue sky at sunrise, a few vapor trails from aircraft headed to parts unknown, minimal smoke from the fires in the Sierras and water as smooth as glass... 5 Quote
Way north bass guy Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 Fifteen years ago today, I stood up in front of about 250 people and said “I do”, to the best person I’ve ever met. Today we spent part of our anniversary hunting down a new ride for her. It’s basically a brand new version of what she’s driven for 8 years. She’s loved that car but it’s getting tired, so we figured we’d get an “anniversary gift” for her before the other one snuffs it in the middle of winter somewhere. 6 Quote
Bassin' Brad Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Had a successful public land hunt here in the mountains of New Mexico! Not the big one I went to get but what an amazing rush bow hunting these huge animals. I was still hunting when I spotted 4 spikes feeding. I worked my way in close to them and this one began to slowly feed closer and closer. I shot him at 40 yards and flinched a bit and hit him in the shoulder. He didn't know what happened and where it came from so he offered another shot at 50 yards and I put it right through the lungs. He still managed to run a quarter mile and it was a challenging tracking job but we found him within an hour of starting to track (we waited almost a full hour before even begining to track) I had to go buy a freezer and it's chock full of elk meat! My family, friends and myself will be eating good for awhile! 11 Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted September 30, 2020 Super User Posted September 30, 2020 Sitting along an Upper Peninsula highway waiting to catch speeders, a Michigan State Police officer saw a car puttering along at 28 M.P.H. He thought to himself, "That car is just as dangerous as a speeder." So, he turned his lights on and pulled the car over. Approaching the vehicle, he noticed there were 5 elderly ladies, two in the front and 3 in the back, wide eyed and looking like ghosts. The driver was obviously confused. She said, "Officer, I don't understand, I wasn't going over the speed limit! What seems to be the problem?" "Ma'am," the officer said, "you should know that driving well under the speed limit can also be dangerous.” "Under the speed limit? NO SIR! I was doing exactly 28 miles an hour," the old woman said proudly. The officer, holding back a chuckle, explained that 28 was the highway route number, not the speed limit. A bit embarrassed, the woman grinned, thanking the officer for pointing out her error. "Before I go Ma'am, I have to ask, is everyone OK? These women seem badly shaken and haven't uttered a word all this time.” "Oh! they’ll be alright in a minute. We just got off Route 129.” A-Jay 1 10 Quote
