Sandhill Cranes are probably the largest birds in the Florida sky.

They're striking & bold, and this one allowed me to approach unusually close.

It feels odd standing next to a wild bird more than half your height

Saw 3 of them fly over a few weeks ago while we were on the water. Don't see them often although there's a season on them so I assume there's a good population, I think it's mainly further in the western part of the state. They were big birds for sure.

Huge for sure! The only other bird I’ve seen that size are swans.

When I hear them trumpeting in the sky, my reel hand stops, and I'm hypnotized by their awesome flight

Crawfish Boil anyone??

IMG_20200521_201715_resize_16.jpg

We had to cancel our LSU alumni chapter crawfish boil this year in Richmond due to Governor Moonwalk's quarantine orders.

Still considering ordering 30 pounds from Louisiana Crawfish Company for my self later this month, depending on what the tropical storm does as it approaches the Louisiana coast and then into the interior of the state.

Beautiful picture. Suitable for framing.  Enjoy!!!
