Got the old blue rocket out for the maiden voyage of the year today. Trails are all still closed around here due to not enough snow, but there’s enough to rip around behind our house. Honestly, if we don’t get any more show and I never run it the rest of the winter, that’s fine by me. Rather be in the boat any day but ya gotta find fun one way or another around here, at least for a couple more months.

Sitting here wondering why there was a real low growling noise, cause our dogs don’t growl at much of anything, then I realized what the “problem” was ?

Fenway's determination to allude Tucker is admirable.

But I think we can tell by his expression,

it's only a matter of time . . .. . . . . .

Must be nice to have some"one" in the household who enjoys the endless winter. They probably think the same about you guys during the brief fleeting summer while they're uncomfortable.

No, sweetheart. We're only in the data layer here.

"You sssssuck, dad."

I'm super proud of how well she's doing, becoming a pet after spending her whole life in a breeder's tub and not really being handled much. Her head shyness and curiosity is way improved. She's still a super picky eater with the switch from live prey to pre-killed and thawed, but she's coming along.

That's the same type of smile our Min Pin makes right after he craps in your shoes.

For a while now, I've been saying  that catching a PB is a Blast

But this is next level . . .

The old girl has been slowing down a lot lately, makes me sad to see, but the puppy sure comes out of her again when there's snow on the ground. She's an absolute fool when I toss shovels full of snow at her.

We had a lab that did the exact same thing. Even in his last year, at about 10, he still loved to “eat” the snow I shovelled.

No pic, just a good story from today. I met my 80 year old dad at the outdoor fishing and sports show today. Show opened at 10am, he got there around 9:20 and I showed up at 9:45. Well, when he got there, he went and bought himself a ticket. He thought they printed him out 2 tickets so he gave one, to 1 of 2 kids in the Navy, walking towards the ticket counter as he was walking away. Kid thanked him and the 2 went to buy the other a ticket. When the second Navy kid bought his ticket, they gave him 2 tickets as well only he realized one of them was a receipt. My dad had given the one kid his ticket and dad had kept the receipt. The two of them hunted him down in the line to get in, handed his ticket back and told him what had happened. When I got there, I bought my ticket and cut in line by dad. Dad introduced me to the 2 and told me what had happened. The one he gave the ticket to will be getting out in June and heading up to Alaska to get on a commercial fishing boat. Couple of nice kids.

First solo ride for the boy in my brothers farm field. Did pretty good, remembered to let off the throttle before he hit anything ?

If you get lost in the woods,

look for a raccoon and follow it.

You will be in the middle of a road in no time.
