Murphy’s law. Friday at 4, it’s cold, and rainy. What else could go wrong? The bore rod twists like a pretzel! There goes $400! At least they didn’t hit my gas main.

Mom and dad celebrated 57 years of wedded bliss yesterday. Hopefully it won't be their last. Mom has decided that she would rather die from the cancer, than the doctors, and has stopped all chemo treatments. Dad fell down getting ice at the gas station yesterday, which explains the shiner on his left eye.

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad

Not exactly how I wanted to spend one of the last nice Sundays we'll probably have this year, but the wife is happy that I got the damaged and rotten boards on our deck replaced.

Nice view from the bus stop with the kid yesterday, just wish it stopped so I could actually work outside. Oh well, good day to drive around and deliver materials I guess.

100 year-old Jack Eaton from Burton, Michigan, was honored yesterday at Arlington National Cemetery. Jack is the oldest living sentinel who stood guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Infantry soldiers who are selected for this honor will serve a three year tour as a sentinel. His first guard mount at the tomb began in 1938, and after his tour was completed he went on to serve his country in WWII. "Never Will I Falter"

Flavor was awesome. Same recipe I have used for years. This was the first time I have made it in the pellet grill. I let it smoke on 160 for 4 hours. Came out a tad dry. Making the second batch tomorrow. Going to do it for 3 hours and see which is better.

They didn't even have records of who performed the sentinel duty when he did it.  Fortunately, he knew things that only a sentinel would know and was able to prove that he had the position.  This is pretty cool.

See him ?

He was on our island above me as I fished. Gave him a couple of hoots. He stared. Probably scarred him for life thinking I was the biggest ugliest owl he’d ever seen. ?B3B437F1-6BA4-4155-BC38-16F131E3F64D.jpeg

Fall in Michigan. Too bad the sun wasn’t out to make the color on the trees pop, but that’s fall in Michigan. Will barely see the sun until March. Still nice to see the fall colors.
