Harold Scoggins Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 This is why I love kayak fishing on the refuge. The bulls were bugling all around the lake at daybreak today. It's breeding time. 10 Quote
Harold Scoggins Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 "It took me a while to realize it wasn’t just fishing, but time to step away from all the other nonsense and allow my mind to heal – to not dwell on that place. To just give it time to recuperate.” – Ray Queen, Veteran (Photo- Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge) 6 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted September 22, 2019 Super User Posted September 22, 2019 Boat Pics usually mean the fishing was poor ~ And that certainly was the case today . . . A-Jay 6 Quote
Tim Kelly Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 We had a fun day out at the seaside this week. Fishing for (non striped) European Bass we had a fantastic fun day with 72 between the 6 of us. If that was the last trip of the summer, it was a good one. 10 Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted September 23, 2019 Super User Posted September 23, 2019 Murphy, the Golden in my avatar, passed away this summer after a great 12 years. We felt bad for our Saint Bernard only having a couple faux dogs (Yorkies) to "play" with, so we ended up adopting an even bigger Saint. They've hit it off even better than we could have imagined, and here's the happy new couple playing the laziest game of tug of war while I was cleaning the shop earlier. 9 Quote

BassNJake Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 This houseboat flipped over a couple of years ago due to heavy snow on the roof. The marina dragged it into a cove and tied it off. So is it structure, cover or just giant sized litter? 2 2 Quote

Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted October 2, 2019 Global Moderator Posted October 2, 2019 3.33” of rain in the last 24 hours, almost 5 inches since Sunday, 14 degrees colder today than yesterday, and the wind blowing 14-19mph out of the east. Is 6poundbass crazy, or committed? You can see how high our lake has risen in 24 hours. 9 Quote
Harold Scoggins Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 The remains of Gerald B. Raeymacker, age 21, have recently been identified. Gerald was killed near the Chosin Reservoir on December 6, 1950, when Chinese forces attacked his unit. He will be buried in his hometown, Dunkirk, New York on October 19, 2019. Honor him. (There are still over 7200 servicemen missing from that war, the majority of those lost on the battlefields in North Korea.) 8 Quote

Way north bass guy Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Beautiful morning on the lake today, no wind and the fog was just lifting as I got there. Too bad I wasn’t in the boat though, this pic was taken from 3 sections of scaffolding up while I started my day laying stone on a chimney. Oh well, this time of year I gotta make stone while the sun shines. 10 Quote

As I’m dreaming of pitching a jig or finally getting my first lake smallmouth my phone rings with guys calling in sick and I see on my computer screen I have more work than I can do today. Oh well I have the weekend, oh wait severe weather Saturday and 20 degree temp drop and extremely windy Sunday. ? 3 1 Quote
Way north bass guy Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 Saw these guys enjoying the lake while I was finishing up work this afternoon. Probably not a Great Lakes worthy vessel, but it sure looked a lot better than what I was doing. 4 3 Quote
